What You’ll Do
The ARL is one of the research team's of SAIT (Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology) which is Samsung‘s R&D hub, established as the incubator for cutting-edge technologies. SAIT’s mission has covered various research areas from AI applications/algorithms research, neuromorphic processor, domain-specific accelerators to new materials, quantum computing, and super computer system.
ARL is committed to shaping the future of CPU processor and SoC architecture for the most demanding applications of the future like AI and HPC. We are building the foundation of processors and the related platform which are applied to various business targets of Samsung in the future.
We are looking for a highly motivated program coordinator to support our R&D organization, Architecture Research Lab (ARL) in San Jose. In this growing role, you can push your horizon further into engineering program operation specialist in computer engineering and science. Will be responsible for both staffing our R&D program operation activities, and executive administrative tasks.
Location: Daily onsite presence at our San Jose office/headquarters in alignment with our Flexible Work policy

- Provide pro-active/demand-based staffing on the team’s routine/sporadic R&D program operations/activities which are non-technical or a little technical.
- Manage documenting: collate status reports, translate documents from/to Korean to/from English, manage document repositories like sharepoint and confluence.
- Track program execution progress via JIRA, and oversee IT issues to solutions.
- Coordinate the team’s operations with stakeholders to comply with company operation systems and policies.
- Liaise with other staffs in the bigger/external organizations such as HR, finance, account, IP, legal, IT, and etc.
- Autonomously handle day-to-day office operations of the team.
- Manage team budget: track plan vs. actual spends, budget inquiries, headcount and purchase forecasting.
- Assist in quarterly, year-end budget review and next year budget planning.
- Responsible for purchasing R&D hardware/software and general purchases.
- Initiate purchase orders, reconcile invoices, submit expense reports, and budget tracking.
- Calendaring including coordinating meetings with management teams, remote teams and arrange all hands meetings.
- Arrange and coordinate travel schedules, accommodations and all trip logistics.
- Coordinate company events: venue selection, contracts, pricing, transportation, accommodations, food and beverage selection and audio/visual requirements.
- Liaise with regional office property management and Samsung General Affairs regarding facilities, maintenance and space planning.
- Coordinate with Samsung teams in Korea on administrative tasks.
- Assist management with on-boarding and off-boarding employees
- Assist with presentations and maintain organizational charts
- Assist with ensuring projects are executed on time and within budget.
- Manage coordination of onsite and offsite food service needs.
- Take on special projects as needed; planning/implementation/objectives
What You Bring
- Bachelors degree preferred.
- Fluency in Korean & English language is required, including both verbal and written communication.
- Has a strong sense of accountability and takes responsibility for actions.
- Ability to work independently and use appropriate discretionary judgement.
- Ability to learn quickly when facing new problems; relentless, versatile learner, open to change.
- Acting as a liaison for VP’s/Team Lead’s direct reports.
- Demonstrated experience working with other company divisions including Finance, Legal, HR, Facilities, and IT.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Detailed planning, time management, and organizational skills supporting senior leaders.
- Ability to react with appropriate level of urgency to situations and events that require quick response or turnaround.
- High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information and dealing with professionals inside and outside the company.
- Willingness to learn and teach.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and office IT tasks.
- Strong professionalism and an energetic positive attitude.
- Adaptable and flexible. Able to work under tight deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, organization, time management and follow-up skills.
- Ability to build relationships with team members and other assistants across the company.

Hourly Base Pay Rate
$76,500 - $103,500 USD
