What You'll Do
Samsung Device Solutions America is seeking an Assistant Engineer, DRAM Business Enablement. Be motivated self-starter to manage and sustain memory qualification for DRAM-based memory solutions being used in a breadth of applications in a customer lab environment. You will be focused on successful technical engagement in consultation with engineers to drive memory qualification completion, collaborate with customer lab representatives to initiate debugging activities for any memory failures to maintain alignment with customer objectives and foster deeper technical engagement and relationships. Experience of working in a hardware test environment and the ability to communicate effectively is essential to the position.
Location: Daily onsite presence in Round Rock/Austin location 5 days/week.
- Daily local travel to customer lab in Round Rock required.
- Perform memory qualification tests in the customer lab.
- Inspection of qualification samples for any sign of damage that may need replacement
- Prepare test results & reports according to instructions
- Proactively and professionally manage lab memory samples in accordance with company guidelines and customer requirements
- Develop subject matter expertise needed to provide first-line failure issue resolution as needed to drive to closure.
- Manage critical relationships with key customer lab managers, engineers and technicians.
- Understand customer requirements for DRAM product design-in and assist local engineers in providing solutions and suggestions
- Assisting engineering to follow up on PCN (Product Change Notice) and related validation/testing activities in internal and customer labs.
- Assist engineers with self-qualification testing; prepare devices and equipment for test.
- Support self-qualification activity and understand DRAM SI/PI and timing analysis measurements.
- Synchronize with engineers to assure that the memory testing strategy is fully aligned with our business strategy.

What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics or Electrical Engineering or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 2+ years of lab experience in hardware testing environment
- Solid experience with supporting DRAM memory products.
- Familiar with system RAS features and technical support for Tier 1 DRAM customers and their ODMs
- Experience in supporting consumer server & PC DRAM products to customers and enabling products: DDR based memory DIMMs, discrete LPDDR and DDR DRAM components.
- Capable of prioritizing tasks to meet goals and ensure product quality.
- Experience working with validation engineers setting up test benches.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Show computer skills, able to run diagnostic software and test scripts.
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Customer support experience for DRAM products and related communications skills.
- Proficient experience in using MS Excel, Word, and Powerpoint.
- Experience in troubleshooting computer hardware issues involving memory failures.
- Fluency in Korean is a plus

Hourly Base Pay Rate
$38.92 - $49.54 USD
