About the job

Build the places where people do their best work.

Samsung Semiconductor is looking for a leader to head our Workplace Solutions Group (WSG), the team that creates the places where people come to thrive. From a new hire's first morning on our San Jose headquarters campus, to the café where they eat, the events they attend, the building systems they help them maximize performance, and the security that keeps them safe, everything WSG delivers is part of the employee experience, and all of it is built to enable the business. You will translate our company culture into physical environments where talented people can do their best work.

Why this role

This is a rare chance to lead the full workplace experience for the US headquarters of a global semiconductor leader, along with our regional offices across the US.

  • Real impact on every employee. You will own the experience of our people across the entire employee journey, and help deliver on the promise made to them in recruiting and onboarding.
  • A headquarters campus to shape. Our San Jose campus is the center of our US presence, and the largest part of your scope.
  • A seat at the table. You will report to the SVP People Team, contribute to the HR leadership team, and partner with Finance, Real Estate and Construction, IT, Cybersecurity, MarCom, and the business.
  • One leader, a broad portfolio. Workplace Experience, Facilities Operations & Maintenance, project roadmaps, site reliability, EHS, and physical security all come together under you.
  • A team and partners to build with. You will lead Samsung employees and outsourced partners who deliver the experience every day.

What success looks like

  • Employees describe our sites as easy to use, welcoming, and a reason to come do their best work in a collaborative environment.
  • The headquarters campus and regional offices run reliably, with fewer disruptions and fast resolution when something goes wrong.
  • Safety and security programs are strong and visible, and our vendors perform as accountable partners. All compliance standards are exceeded.
  • VIP visitor and events are managed with top tier customer service orientation.
  • WSG is seen as a strategic enabler and trusted partner to HR, Finance, MarCom and the business, with clear roadmaps and a budget managed with discipline.

What you will own

  • Headquarters campus and regional offices. Own how our San Jose headquarters and our regional offices across the US operate, so they are reliable, easy to use, and a reason to come in.
  • The employee experience. Shape the experience across the employee journey, from arrival and onboarding to the built environment, our café and food, events, and amenities, working hand in hand with HR to deliver on what employees were promised.
  • Roadmaps and site reliability. Own the roadmaps for workplace enhancement and facilities projects, and the reliability of the building systems and critical infrastructure that keep our sites running.
  • Safety and security. Lead EHS and physical security, and keep us in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Physical security is delivered as a service and is part of the experience, protecting people and assets while keeping our sites welcoming. It works in partnership with Cybersecurity and with corporate security in Korea.
  • Partners and budget. Own the WSG operating and capital budgets, including annual plans, and the facilities management and service partners who deliver for us every day.
  • The team. Lead and develop the people and service lines across WSG as a visible leader and coach, present plans and results regularly to senior leadership, and be a full member of the People Leadership Team reporting to the SVP People Team.
