Position Summary:
Sands Capital is seeking a motivated Planning and Analytics (“P&A”) Associate to support our Planning and Analytics Team with data analysis, internal business updates, and executive management processes. The ideal candidate will have an interest in working on a variety of projects ranging from data analytics, database management, and data visualization to presentation production and internal communications.
Work Expectations:
This role is expected to work from our Arlington, Virginia office (HQ) on a hybrid schedule of 2-3 days per week in-office (specifically, Tuesdays and Wednesdays) or as directed by your manager, depending on the role and team needs. Please know that the hybrid schedule is subject to change, as directed by our Executive Management Team, at any time.
Position Responsibilities:
- Process Implementation and Improvement: Developing and maintaining processes to enhance data collection and analytics capabilities using tools such as Microsoft Excel, Power BI, eVestment, Salesforce, and FactSet;
- Internal Reporting and Collaboration: Working with teams across the firm to develop and update internal analytics reports, including dashboards, client insights, and activity assessments, ensuring key metrics are clear and actionable;
- Industry and Market Analysis: Contributing to the team's marketplace analytics by understanding peer groups and industry trends and creating periodic reports on industry developments;
- Executive Management Support: Assisting in setting agendas and preparing presentation materials for monthly executive team meetings and supporting data assembly for executive planning sessions;
- Business Updates and Event Organization: Helping to create and organize internal business updates, including the annual Business Plan, All Firm Update, and Partners Meeting as well as supporting the firm’s internal Intranet;
- Performing other position responsibilities, as needed; and

Position Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree from an accredited university in Business, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or another related field;
- 0-3 years of experience in a corporate planning, data analysis, investment research, operations, or a management consulting function;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to perform calculations to process large volumes of data, use spreadsheets efficiently, and produce graphs and tables;
- Experience with data visualization software including Power BI or Tableau is a must;
- Experience with data transformation using SQL, M, and DAX formula and query languages is a plus;
- Knowledge of the financial services landscape is preferred; and
- High integrity and professionalism in handling confidential matters is a must.

Salary and Benefits:
Sands Capital offers competitive compensation and generous benefits. For this role, the salary range is $75,000 to $100,000 and will be determined by the candidate’s professional experience and relevant knowledge, skills, and abilities. Base salary is one component of total compensation for this position. Sands Capital may also pay a discretionary, performance-based bonus which is targeted as a percentage of base salary and varies by position and position level. The actual bonus paid, if any, is based on the achievement of quantitative and/ or qualitative goals as well as the success of the firm.
