Job Title: Preadmission Nurse (RN)
Location: Denver, CO (Hybrid)
Compensation: $70,000-83,000 Annual Salary
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM (some on-call required)
Work Environment: Hybrid, with required time in our Denver office.
Are you a compassionate, skilled nurse with a passion for helping individuals on their path to recovery? Sandstone Care is seeking a dedicated Preadmission Nurse to join our multi-disciplinary team. In this vital role, you’ll use your clinical expertise to assess, triage, and support clients through the admissions process, ensuring they receive the appropriate care and placement within our treatment programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct telephonic assessments to determine the appropriate level of care for prospective clients (detox, residential, PHP, IOP, OP).
- Work closely with the admissions and medical teams to handle crisis interventions, providing support in urgent situations with a calm, collected approach.
- Collaborate with families, hospitals, case managers, and insurance companies to ensure seamless client admissions.
- Utilize ASAM criteria, perform biopsychosocial assessments, and complete pre-certification processes for client insurance.
- Maintain accurate and compliant clinical documentation in line with state, federal, and organizational standards.

What We’re Looking For:
- Strong Clinical Assessment & Critical Thinking: You have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in medical detox, psychiatric evaluation, and triage, and can make confident decisions regarding client care.
- Crisis Management Expertise: You’re skilled at handling escalations and can remain calm while prioritizing safety.
- Excellent Communication & Collaboration: You work well with both internal teams and external partners to ensure the best client outcomes.
- Top-notch Customer Service Skills: You can build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds, providing compassionate and respectful care.
- Compliance and Documentation Excellence: You ensure all clinical records meet HIPAA, federal, and state requirements.
Qualifications:
- Active RN license in the state of operation
- BLS certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
- Experience with telephonic or telehealth assessments is a plus
- CARN or PMH-BC certifications preferred
