Position: National Director of Nursing
Location: Hybrid w/ Required Travel (Must live in CO / MD / VA)
Environment: Inpatient/Residential and/or Detoxification Treatment Centers
Schedule: Variable Schedule + Rotating On Call Schedule
Compensation: $140,000-170,000 Annual Salary + Incentive Bonus (up to 15% of annual salary)
About The Role
The role will oversee the Nursing and Behavioral Tech departments at Sandstone Care and help set the nursing and patient care strategy. They will also develop and implement nursing policies and guidelines, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, whilst maintaining the highest standards of patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- In partnership with clinical, medical and operational teams, support the program design, implementation, and management of inpatient and residential facilities
- Establish annual departmental goals with measurable objectives in collaboration with the CEO, Clinical leadership, the CMO and COO to which the departmental performance will be measured against.
- Define, design, implement, measure and maintain standardization in nursing and BHT practices amongst the respective sites.
- Supervise Nursing and Behavioral Health Tech leadership team as they complete their assigned tasks, one on one supervisions, and support team development along with performance improvement plans and disciplinary action as needed
- Oversee staffing, scheduling, and people related functions of the Nursing department, including interviewing, hiring, scheduling, and ensuring that minimum staffing requirements are met at all times for this department and for Behavioral Health Tech staff
- Responsible for working with the Compliance Officer to ensure that requirements for Nursing department set forth by the State and/or other regulating bodies, such as RCCF/BHA/TJC are met and that medication (med) rooms and other Nursing related spaces operate safely
- Ensure the nursing and behavioral health tech teams are following all applicable protocols, policies and procedures for medication management, lab work, and any medical or program processes
- Design, implement, and manage ongoing training needs, including competencies for all Nursing, and behavioral health tech staff
- Other duties or projects as assigned
Education Licensing Requirements:
- An active Multistate RN license in CO / MD / VA is required
- An active CPR / BLS certification is required
- A valid driver's License and clean driving history is required
Experience Requirements:
- 5+ years as a Senior Director of Nursing (or similar) leading a Nursing department of a multi-site, multi-state organization
- Previous experience with treatment of substance abuse and/or co-occurring disorders is required in a detox and/or adolescent residential setting
- Communications - must have the ability to express ideas clearly, concisely, convincingly, and effectively when addressing an audience
- Judgement and Decisions Making - to consistently exercise good judgment and adequate emotional stability in evaluating situations and making decisions despite the pressures of deadlines or the occurrence of unexpected stressful events
