Position Title: Research Intern 

Work Environment: Remote 

Reports to: Sr Director of Research and Outcomes 

 

Job Summary 

The Research Intern is a part-time, entry-level position. The ideal candidate for the Research Internship is a university student who is looking to gain hands-on experience in an applied, clinical research environment while contributing to meaningful projects and learning from industry experts. The internship offers an opportunity to develop essential skills, foster professional growth, and make a positive impact on outcomes research studies at Sandstone Care. The Intern will report directly to the Senior Director of Research & Outcomes.

Qualifications 

Educational Requirements 

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in psychological, epidemiological, medical, or social sciences program. 

Skills and Competencies 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Proficiency in using research tools and software. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. 
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy. 
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Previous experience in research, whether academic or professional, is a plus. 
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and familiarity with tools such as SPSS, R, or Excel is advantageous. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Research and Data Collection 
  • Conduct literature research using online databases, libraries, and other resources. 
  • Collect, clean, and organize data. 
  • Prepare data for analysis and assist in data visualization for dissemination.   
  • Assist in identifying trends and patterns within datasets. 
  • Documentation and Reporting 
  • Support in the preparation of detailed reports and summaries based on research findings. 
  • Contribute to the development of presentations and documentation for internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Ensure proper citation and referencing of all sources used. 
  • Collaboration and Communication 
  • Work closely with team members to align research objectives with project goals. 
  • Communicate findings effectively through written and verbal channels.

  3. Reference Checks: You'll be required to submit 3-5 references that can speak to your skill and abilities in a professional setting

Expected Interview Timeline: The entire process typically takes 1-2 weeks.
