Clinical Data Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY
As a Clinical Data Analyst, you will support clinical operations, quality assurance, infection prevention, risk management, and nursing leadership through comprehensive data management, analysis, and reporting. You will collect, validate, analyze, and interpret clinical, staffing, and financial data to drive informed decision-making, regulatory compliance, and performance improvement initiatives. This role collaborates cross-functionally to develop actionable insights, ensure data integrity, and provide technical and administrative support to leadership while maintaining strict confidentiality and compliance standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain data management plans, including data preparation, validation, cleaning, transformation, and modeling.
- Perform data uploads, validation activities, maintenance, and ongoing quality checks to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Pull reports and key metrics from multiple databases and information systems.
- Abstract data according to defined criteria, regulatory standards, and organizational guidelines.
- Ensure all data management activities comply with applicable healthcare regulations and standards.
- Maintain data integrity, completeness, and confidentiality at all times.
- Use statistical tools and analytical techniques to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement in staffing, patient care, and clinical processes.
- Create graphs, dashboards, and visual reports to support Performance Improvement initiatives (e.g., fall audits, Quality of Care projects).
- Develop clear, concise, and actionable reports and presentations for executive leadership.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement data-driven solutions.
- Provide monthly clinical variance reports to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), including analysis of budget variances and performance drivers.
- Review and code invoices for CNO approval; research cost drivers, liaise with business partners, and assess budget impact.
- Generate and analyze daily scheduled versus actual worked hours to identify anomalies and recommend corrective actions.
- Analyze overtime and extended schedules to calculate FTE requirements for leadership review.
- Provide backup timecard support to scheduling teams and unit managers, including corrections and punch adjustments.
- Collect, validate, and analyze staffing and census data to calculate Direct Hours Per Patient Day (DHPPD).
- Identify workforce trends and provide insights to support operational efficiency.
- Provide technical and administrative support to the Director of Quality Assurance, Infection Preventionist, Risk Manager, and Chief Nursing Officer.
- Prepare findings in clear, legible formats suitable for executive review.
- Support multi-faceted program coordination and assist with problem resolution within the facility.
- Assist with training staff on data management tools and procedures as needed.
JOB DETAILS
- Pay Rate: $33.65 - $38.46 per hour
- Hours: Full-Time, 40 hours per week
- Shift Schedule: Day | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Days Off: Saturday & Sunday
- Working Days: Monday through Friday
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a health, analytics, or data-focused field (e.g., informatics, epidemiology, economics, statistics, or related discipline emphasizing analytics).
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience working in a regulated environment.
- One (1) year of direct experience in healthcare, senior services, or long-term care preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel (pivot tables, formulas, graphs, macros), Access (query design and database management), Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong understanding of data architecture and database systems.
- Ability to work with multiple computer programs and data platforms.
- Experience automating processes and increasing productivity through technical tools preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities with sound decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively within a team.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and commitment to confidentiality.
- Knowledge of medical and clinical terminology preferred but not required.
- Strong professional judgment and discretion in handling sensitive information.

- Fine motor skills with good visual and auditory acuity.
- Ability to safely transport residents/patients in wheelchairs without fatigue over extended periods.
