Shifts Available: Monday through Friday, 6am - 2:30pm, and 2:30pm - 11pm

Pay Range: $23.50 - $30.30

This position includes a $3,000 sign on bonus

Job Summary

The Facilities III, AutoStore Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing material handling equipment and building systems within a fast-paced distribution center environment. This position supports operational efficiency by performing preventive maintenance, coordinating vendor activities, responding to maintenance needs, and ensuring equipment operates safely and effectively. The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Material Handling Equipment Maintenance

  • Perform minor and major repairs on material handling equipment, including AutoStore systems.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues and restore equipment to operational condition.
  • Assist with equipment lockout/tagout procedures as needed.

Preventive Maintenance

  • Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance on conveyor systems and other mechanical equipment.
  • Inspect belts, bearings, seals, filters, and fluid levels.
  • Repair or replace worn or damaged components.

Building Systems Support

  • Coordinate and work with external contractors and vendors involved in installation, commissioning, and maintenance projects.
  • Monitor building systems and ensure equipment is functioning properly.
  • Operate computerized systems that control and monitor mechanical and utility equipment when required.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Complete daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance checklists.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and service documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA requirements, and applicable regulations.
  • Maintain HAZMAT-related records and documentation.

Operational Support

  • Respond promptly and professionally to maintenance requests and operational issues.
  • Support emergency maintenance activities as needed.
  • Obtain repair estimates and order replacement parts when necessary.
  • Recommend maintenance improvements, process enhancements, and cost-saving initiatives.

Additional Duties

  • Perform outside custodial responsibilities, including snow removal when required.
  • Operate powered lift equipment following safety standards and certification requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 4-6 years of facility maintenance, conveyor maintenance, industrial equipment repair, or related experience.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical systems, conveyors, motors, bearings, and material handling equipment.
  • Experience using hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

Preferred

  • Experience with AutoStore systems or automated material handling equipment.
  • Experience operating powered industrial equipment (forklifts, lifts, etc.).
  • Knowledge of lockout/tagout procedures and OSHA regulations.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and maintenance tracking systems.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, climb stairs, and reach throughout the workday.
  • Frequently lift and move up to 60 pounds.
  • Work around conveyors, powered equipment, forklifts, and other mechanized systems.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures and warehouse conditions.

What Should You Expect?

DC Warehouse (Equipment): While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to stand, walk, talk and hear. The employee frequently lifts and/or moves up to 60 pounds. The employee operates powered equipment requiring use of both hands as well as full range of motion of the neck, head and back. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, grasp and perform repetitive hand, wrist and arm motions. The employee is frequently required to climb stairs, kneel/squat, bend and carry. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Employee may be required to wear a headset covering one or both ears. Employee will be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment such as a protective harness while operating equipment. Basic English literacy is required for operation of machines and necessary daily paperwork. Work environment is moderately noisy. The employee is occasionally required to work near conveyor systems. There is exposure to dust and changes in weather conditions. Work is performed under typical warehouse conditions. Potential hazards exist with regard to machinery such as forklifts, pallet jacks, mechanized systems, etc. Work environment is hectic and fast-paced. The employee is regularly exposed to ambient lighting and can be exposed to extreme heat and extreme cold including climates consistent with outside weather conditions.
