Assistant Product Developer, Custom
What's the Short Version?
The Assistant Product Developer, Custom is responsible for assisting the development of a wide range of product categories and tasks, and providing administrative support with design, quality testing, sample tracking, and technical packages.
What Will You Be Doing?
- Build and maintain technical product specifications (BOM, hangtag /label art, packaging and associated technical images).
- Assist in the development of fabric, trims, color and garment with multiple sources and facilitate approval during product development stage.
- Assist in managing multiple projects from product development stage through final delivery to the customer.
- Maintain the fabric swatch library and sample racks.
- Assist with all approval garment samples - prototype, fit, pre-production.
- Review and filter initial new development requests.
- Manage all parcel movement, prepare and send packages, process inbound packages.
- Manage all aspects of item set-up and maintain product attributes for custom styles.
- Maintain and monitor production status against agreed deadlines to ensure on time product delivery.
- Assist in the research and analyzation of market trends to identify suitable products and develop presentations, product samples and market data to support the selling process.
- Assist Product Developers on special projects and presentations to earn new business.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

What Are We Looking For?
- 1-3 years of education or relevant experience.
- Previous experience with major retail brands in assigned product area a plus.
- A passion for Product Development and learning more about garment manufacturing.
- Knowledge of or excitement to learn garment construction and raw materials.
- High level ability to organize, communicate effectively and meet deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate goals and objectives.
- Occasional travel as required.
- Strong information seeking and problem-solving skills, with a drive to make things happen.
- Comprehension, and ability to lead understanding of the design and development process from inception through final adoption and production delivery with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
What's Our Offer?
Salary Range: You`ll earn between $25.00 - $33.65 on an hourly basis, depending on experience.
Bonus: You`ll be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus up to 5% of base salary.
Paid Time Off: You`ll accrue paid time off on a weekly basis based on hours worked up to 112 hours per year to start. Employees also receive 8 paid holidays and 1 paid family day off.

What Should You Expect?
Hybrid: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Work environment is moderately quiet. Ability to work on computer for multiple hours with frequent interruptions.
SanMar's Eastpointe office is located near Seattle, WA and our standard working hours are 8:00-5:00 PST. Quarterly travel may be required.
