What's the Short Version?

The Solutions Architect, Distribution is responsible for designing Supply Chain solutions within the SanMar enterprise. This role communicates effectively with internal and external customers to understand and clarify needs, convert those needs into clear requirements and design solutions that satisfy these requirements. The Solutions Architect, Distribution is an expert in tooling that creates detailed architecture designs that bring clarity to both technical and non-technical partners. As a member of the Distribution Architecture team, this position plays a key role in ensuring consistency and continuity across SanMar's Distribution solutions.

 

What Will You Be Doing?

  • Maintain system ownership of Distribution Systems including Koerber WMS, Proship, and other supply chain systems.
  • Translate business requirements and strategy into architecture designs usable by Distribution teams.
  • Design integration layers between WMS and SanMar's enterprise systems along with DC warehouse control systems.
  • Work with Distribution teams to design and improve solutions that provide efficient processing.
  • Articulate and mediate Distribution System tradeoffs related to performance, scalability, manageability, testability, security, maintainability, usability, functionality, cost and time.
  • Support DSaP technology, SQA and outside vendors through the development lifecycle.
  • Create and maintain necessary reference documents relating to Distribution Systems.
  • Partner with SanMar architecture teams to ensure alignment with overall SanMar architecture principles.
  • Provide guidance and training to Distribution and other departments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all policies and standards.

 

What Are We Looking For?

  • Bachelor's Degree in information technology, computer science, software engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 7-9 years of relevant experience
  • Experience architecting solutions for simplicity, efficiency and effectiveness in support of large-scale business systems
  • Experience with all phases of the software development lifecycle
  • Experience with the Koerber Supply Chain Technologies is preferred
  • SQL, T-SQL development experience is preferred
  • Broad understanding of enterprise-level solutions, technologies and implementations
  • Demonstrated experience in building mission-critical solutions that support a large enterprise including performance, scalability, maintainability, business continuity and disaster recovery concerns
  • Experience designing relational databases
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills that allow solutions to be articulated to technical and non-technical people at all levels of responsibility
  • Ability to work on concurrent projects, meet business expectations, influence outcomes and meet timelines
  • A curious mind, strong critical thinking skills, and a continuous drive to expand and learn for the future
  • A bias for action with the ability to adapt quickly with a positive attitude toward change
  • Long-term thinking, with the ability to recognize and help others understand the near-term requirements while still preparing well for changes in the future
  • Demonstrated skills in gathering, translating, prioritizing, and documenting system requirements
  • Demonstrated experience leading developers through technical designs/builds

 

What's Our Offer?

Salary Range: You`ll earn between $135,000 - $195,000 annually, depending on experience.

 

Bonus: You`ll be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus up to 15% of base salary.

 

Paid Time Off: You`ll accrue paid time off on a bi-weekly basis based on hours worked up to 152 hours per year to start. Employees also receive 8 paid holidays and 1 paid family day off.

What Should You Expect?

Remote: Our standard working hours are 8:00-5:00 PST. Periodic travel may be required. The employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods while working on a computer and participating in virtual and in-person meetings. Frequent use of hands for keyboarding and standard office equipment is required. Occasional standing, walking, and reaching may be needed to attend meetings or collaborate in an office setting. The role requires the ability to perform close visual work on a computer for extended periods. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 10–15 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be available to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.
