Learn more at saucelabs.com.

The Role:

As a Senior Product Designer, you'll join a small, generalist design team where each designer is co-responsible for the strategy and success of their product area, in close partnership with their PM and engineering manager. Your specific area will be scoped after you join, based on portfolio priorities and where your strengths add the most leverage.

You'll design for a technical audience of QA engineers, SDETs, and developers, building the tools that help the world's largest enterprises ship outstanding software experiences to their own customers. Alongside the rest of the team, you'll lean into agentic design. That means using AI tools deeply in your own day-to-day work, and designing AI capabilities into the Sauce Labs platform itself.

Working with cross-functional product management and engineering partners, you will:

  • Drive product strategy in your area jointly with your PM and engineering manager.
  • Translate complex user problems into intuitive design solutions.
  • Lead design execution end-to-end, from research and ideation through high-fidelity launch and iterative improvement.

This is an opportunity to make a significant impact by directly influencing the direction and success of a critical product area.

About You:

You're a strategic and hands-on UX generalist comfortable across discovery, research, interaction, and visual design. You bring years of senior-level experience and you actively use AI in your own design practice. None of the best designers have AI all figured out yet, but you should already be in the work. You're as interested in using AI tools in your day-to-day as you are in designing AI capabilities into the products themselves.

You Likely Have:

  • Years of senior-IC design experience for technical audiences such as developers, QA engineers, and SDETs.
  • Hands-on fluency with AI tools across research synthesis, ideation, prototyping, and agentic workflows, plus a clear point of view about how AI should appear in the product UX itself.
  • Demonstrated end-to-end ownership of a product or major product area, including co-owning the strategy alongside your PM and engineering manager.
  • High agency on a distributed, async-heavy team, where you're a self-starter who communicates proactively so collaborators and managers always know where things stand.

Responsibilities:

As a Senior Product Designer, you will have a direct impact on our product and design practice. You will:

End-to-End Design Ownership

  • Lead the full design lifecycle for your product area, from research and strategy through high-fidelity design and post-launch iteration. Co-own product strategy with your PM and engineering manager.
  • Conduct user research to uncover deep insights into user needs, behaviors, and motivations. Translate these findings into actionable product recommendations and elegant solutions.
  • Design and prototype detailed user flows, mockups, and interactive prototypes to effectively communicate and validate design concepts.
  • Design AI capabilities into the Sauce Labs platform itself. Partner with engineering on feasibility, functionality and implementation.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Product Management and Engineering to define product strategy and deliver on both user and business goals.
  • Be the voice of the user, clearly articulating design rationale and managing feedback cycles with key stakeholders throughout the discovery and development process.
  • Leverage data and analytics to inform design decisions and strategically prioritize improvements for the overall product experience.

Design Craft & Team Leadership

  • Champion and contribute to our design system, ensuring consistency, scalability, and adherence to best practices and accessibility standards.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve workflows and processes, leading initiatives to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Provide constructive feedback, and contribute to the growth and visibility of the design team.
  • Stay current with how AI is changing both design tools and product UX, and bring those insights back to the team.

Required Skills:

Core Expertise

  • 5+ years of experience in product design, with a strong portfolio showcasing successful, user-centered design solutions for complex applications.
  • A deep understanding of UX, visual, and interaction design principles, with a proven ability to apply them to solve business and user problems.
  • Proficiency in Figma and other industry-standard design tools.
  • Demonstrated fluency with AI tools as part of your day-to-day design practice.

Research & Collaboration

  • Proven ability to plan and execute both qualitative and quantitative user research to generate actionable insights that inform design decisions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders across all levels.
  • Experience in workshop facilitation in both a remote and in person environment
  • Familiarity with the software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban). Understanding front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is a plus.

Personal & Professional Attributes

  • High agency on a distributed team. A proactive communicator who keeps collaborators informed without being asked, and a self-starter who unblocks themselves when partners are offline.
  • Meticulous attention to detail that results in a polished and high-quality final product.
  • Bachelor's degree in a design-related field or equivalent practical work experience.

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
