This is a hybrid role based out of our San Francisco, Corporate Headquarter office, 3 days in the office, 2 days remote OR one of our Hub locations, Boston, MA or Raleigh, NC, which means you may be expected to work from a designated co-working space from time to time, and will otherwise work remotely from home, until such time as a dedicated office is established.

The Role: 

As the Head of Product Marketing (Director Level), you will be a strategic leader responsible for defining and executing the comprehensive product vision for Sauce Labs. You will own the overall product marketing strategy, guiding a high-performing team to drive leadership, accelerate product adoption, and significantly impact revenue growth. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, hands-on leadership, and a deep understanding of the continuous testing and software development lifecycle market. You will serve as a key bridge between product development, sales, and broader marketing functions, ensuring our market narrative is compelling, differentiated, and aligned with business objectives. 

Responsibilities: 

Strategic Leadership & Vision: 

  • Define and articulate the overarching product marketing strategy that aligns with company goals and market opportunities. 
  • Drive the narrative, positioning, and messaging for Sauce Labs products, ensuring consistency and impact across all channels. 
  • Act as a key strategic partner to Product Management, influencing product roadmaps and investment decisions based on deep market insights and competitive analysis.
  • Champion a data-driven approach to product marketing, leveraging insights to optimize strategies and measure ROI. 

Team Leadership & Development: 

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a growing team of Product Marketing Managers, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement. 
  • Set clear performance objectives, provide regular feedback, and support the professional growth and career development of team members. 
  • Recruit, onboard, and retain top product marketing talent. 

Go-to-Market (GTM) Excellence: 

  • Architect and lead the end-to-end go-to-market strategy for all new product launches, major updates, and market expansion initiatives. 
  • Orchestrate cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Product, Demand Generation, and Corporate Marketing to ensure seamless execution and maximum market impact. 
  • Drive the creation of compelling sales enablement tools, training programs, and collateral that empower the sales organization to effectively position and sell our solutions. 

Market & Competitive Intelligence: 

  • Establish and lead a robust market intelligence function, deeply understanding customer needs, competitive landscapes, and emerging industry trends within the SDLC and continuous testing space. 
  • Translate complex market dynamics into actionable insights for product development, sales, and marketing teams. 
  • Identify new market opportunities and strategic partnerships to expand Sauce Labs' reach and influence. 

Content & Thought Leadership: 

  • Oversee the development of high-impact marketing content, including thought leadership pieces, whitepapers, case studies, product datasheets, and website content that resonate with target audiences. 
  • Ensure that content effectively communicates value propositions and differentiates Sauce Labs in the market. 
  • Serve as a prominent spokesperson and evangelist for Sauce Labs at industry events, webinars, and customer engagements.

Performance & Optimization: 

  • Define key performance indicators (KPIs) for product marketing initiatives and establish rigorous tracking and reporting mechanisms. 
  • Analyze market performance, customer adoption, and revenue impact to continually refine strategies and tactics. 
  • Present findings and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.

Required Skills: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field required; MBA highly preferred. 
  • 7-10 years of progressive experience in product marketing within the B2B SaaS industry, with a significant focus on developer tools, DevOps, or enterprise software. ● 5+ years of demonstrated success in leading, managing, and scaling product marketing teams. 
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful go-to-market strategies that have driven significant revenue growth and market share. 
  • Exceptional strategic thinking capabilities, with the ability to translate complex market insights into clear, actionable plans. 
  • Deep understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and continuous testing market. 
  • Superior written, verbal, and presentation communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, including senior executives, sales teams, and customers. 
  • Highly analytical and data-driven, with a strong ability to interpret market data, identify trends, and make informed decisions. 
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong cross-functional relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels within a matrixed organization. 
  • Strong ROI-tracking skills; able to prove what is – or isn’t – working and adapt strategies accordingly. 
  • A passion for technology and a detailed understanding of the software industry.

We are excited to share the base salary for this position exclusive of fringe benefits, potential bonuses or stock-based compensation. Your base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience, along with its relationship to the base salaries of current team members at Sauce Labs that are similarly situated.
