Staff AI Product Manager, International Public Sector
Scale is growing rapidly, and joining the International Public Sector team is an opportunity to work on one of the most exciting and most quickly expanding teams at Scale. This team is responsible for generating, executing, and fostering Scale’s work with governments and government-backed entities outside of the United States. There are four core types of work involved:
- Developing custom AI applications
- Building custom LLMs
- Providing high-quality training data for research and government institutions building LLMs
- Developing partnerships to foster regional talent growth and AI adoption
Scale is looking for an entrepreneurial, product-minded leader to drive development of AI solutions. The ideal AI Product Manager can think strategically about how to solve a problem, is a good listener, understands how to build products, and is comfortable at both getting into the weeds operationally. As a PM, you will be in charge of the scoping and development of AI applications and custom LLMs in the Middle East. These initiatives will drive millions in revenue for the business. You will lead a team of 3-7 operators and partner with engineering to build what will be the most useful solution for our customers.
The ideal candidate is scrappy, analytical, empathetic, and above all, someone who drives and inspires results.
You will:
- Manage the end-to-end development process for custom AI solutions
- Scope out new AI application use cases across various government entities
- Organize design workshops with the client to define custom AI solutions
- Lead cross-functional development of AI applications and custom LLMs with diverse stakeholders (Engineering + Ops + Go-to-Market)
- Stay up to date with latest research in applied AI and training custom LLMs
- Lead fine-tuning (post-training) and evaluation data pipelines for custom LLMs
- Give regular progress updates to the client and International Public Sector leadership
Ideally, you’d have:
- 8+ years of experience leading teams and/or developing products as a founder, product manager, or engineer
- Strong technical background (STEM degree) or experience building technical software products
- Experience working at a startup
- Experience with design principles and tools, including Figma/Canva/Miro
- A track record of structured, analytics-driven problem solving with an action-oriented mindset that balances creative problem solving with the scrappiness to ultimately deliver results
