Scale to Win also offers turnkey “We Text” services, where our team builds text campaigns, sends messages, collects data, and ensures compliance on behalf of clients.

We work with more than 3000 Democratic and progressive campaigns and organizations driving change. Current and past clients include the Biden-Harris campaign, the Democratic National Committee, the Working Families Party, AFL-CIO, UFCW, MoveOn, and For Our Future.

Scale to Win is hiring a Director of Non-Profit Sales to direct our growing non-profit sales practice.

 

About the role:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy focused on acquiring new non-profit clients and expanding relationships with existing clients to achieve ambitious revenue goals for a new, non-profit sales vertical. Owns the overall Scale to Win non-profit revenue goal and ensures the goal is met.
  • Develop significant outbound sales pipeline in this brand new non-profit market. Cultivate strong relationships with key decision-makers within non-profit organizations. In 2024, this will likely involve significant deal ownership as well, and ownership of prospective client relationships, from outbound pitch (or inbound lead), to product demo and evaluation process, to contract and negotiation, and ultimately, to closing the deal to help our sales team hit ambitious revenue targets. 
  • Define and implement long term staffing plan to ultimately build a non-profit sales team. In 2024 / 2025, this will likely involve working with the Director of Political Sales to set individual non-profit goals for existing sales reps.
  • Define and implement the overall Scale to Win Non-Profit competitive positioning. Including developing our overall non-profit go to market strategy and our ideal non-profit client profile.
  • Collaborate with marketing, product management, and customer success teams to align our non-profit sales strategies with overall company objectives.
  • Track and report on sales performance metrics, pipeline development, and revenue forecasts to senior management.

Reports to Director of Sales.

 

Note, position is fully remote, though the position may be expected to travel up to 25% of the time.

 

About You:

  • You are an experienced sales leader with at least seven years of relevant experience. You’re able to define a strategic approach to develop a new market, and lead teams to achieve ambitious goals.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth in a software or technology company. You’re excited to take on the initial pipeline development work and set up long term processes and structures to ultimately grow a team.
  • Strong communicator with excellent verbal presentation and writing skills. 
  • Deep understanding of non-profit organizations, their funding models, and operational challenges.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a sales team.
  • Excellent, experienced people manager, ideally with expertise in building and overseeing a team of sales reps. Highly skilled at hiring, training, coaching, and giving feedback to direct reports.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively present to and negotiate with senior executives.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute complex sales plans and initiatives.
  • Experience using CRM software (we use Hubspot) and other sales tools to manage pipeline and drive sales efficiency.
  • Experience preparing sales forecasts for senior leadership.
  • A strong collaborator with a knack for working cross departmentally to align teams on a set of objections.
  • A go-getter. You’re excited to lead a new initiative and set up new processes and strategies for the first time, and you have the organization, discipline, and follow-through to make those new initiatives happen.
  • Comfort working in fast-paced environments and ability to navigate complex and nuanced situations.
  • Willing to work some weekends and evenings, especially as we approach peak election times and experience peak volumes with our clients.
  • Strong commitment to progressive values and desire to help the left win.

The offer

  • $130,000 yearly salary (base). As part of our commitment to equity, salaries are non-negotiable: everyone in the same role receives the same salary.
  • Discretionary monthly bonuses. These are typically paid out monthly during even years (e.g., 2024) and, for this role in 2024, range from $4,200 to $9,300 per month. Note, we typically also offer even-year end-of-year bonuses that exceed the top monthly bonus range.
  • Ten company holidays, two floating holidays, and a weeklong holiday break at the end of the year.
  • Generous paid vacation (up to 24 days a year with time accrued monthly); paid sick leave; paid short-term medical, caregiver, bereavement, and other personal leave. Note that in major election years like 2024, you will still accrue and have available up to 24 vacation days, but no more than 17 vacation days may be taken prior to Election Day to account for on-year capacity requirements.
  • 16 weeks of paid parental leave and an additional 4 weeks of part-time, fully-paid flex time. This is available to all new parents of any gender, including adoptive parents.
  • Fully-paid premium, $0 deductible, top-notch medical/dental/vision insurance for you and your dependents.
  • Remote working with flexible working conditions, a stipend to support your home office setup, and access to a company computer.
