Accounting Manager

We are seeking an Accounting Manager for our Rye Brook, New York office location in Westchester County. This in-office position will have responsibility for all Accounting-related activities and oversight of the Accounting team. This role reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
Responsibilities
- Oversee financial projections for the company and participate in the development of specific financial profit and growth objectives for the short and long-term.
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of the operating budget covering current and projected revenue, direct and overhead expenses, profits and return on investment together with supporting analysis.
- Generate accurate and timely year-to-date financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, cash flow projections and job cost reports) on a monthly or as-needed basis.
- Implement accounting and reporting procedures to ensure soundness, timeliness, and accuracy of all financial and management information. Ensure proper controls are in place. Approve all changes to established procedures, systems and routines.
- Monitor cash flow requirements on a project and corporate level.
- Maintain appropriate business relationships with the company’s bankers, auditors, attorneys and insurers.
- Partner with Human Resources to hire, develop, motivate and review all aligned team members.
- Provide leadership and support to the Accounting Team. Ensure that a high level of competency is developed and maintained by providing appropriate training and by promoting attendance at appropriate educational programs.
- Conduct performance reviews and recommend salaries and salary adjustments for Accounting team.
Education and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or closely-related field, CPA preferred.
- Prior construction industry experience and knowledge required.
- 5+ years of progressive related experience to include one year as an Accountant, prior public accounting experience preferred.
- Ability to prepare and interpret financial statements and reports to solve management and accounting issues.
- Analytical in approach, detail oriented, with an ability to draw conclusions from reporting and find solutions.
- Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Software Systems Knowledge: strong Microsoft Excel skills required. Sage. Timberscan, Procore, GC Pay experience preferred.
