Senior PM Comp Accountant

The Role

We are seeking a highly qualified Accountant to join our Compensation Accounting team. This team is primarily responsible for processing formulaic bonus calculations, ensuring appropriate payment to Investment professionals and maintaining a deferred compensation program at the firm. They interact with various groups within the firm on a regular basis as well as with external parties such as portfolio managers, fund admin, and other service providers. The candidate should bring a strong sense of personal responsibility and ownership of assigned projects and tasks.

 

What you’ll do 

The Senior PM Comp Accountant will review monthly calculations of portfolio manager performance fees and reconcile monthly workbooks between Schonfeld and the administrator. This person will coordinate monthly distribution of performance statements to portfolio managers and review various workpapers (portfolio manager terms, deferred compensation schedule, etc.).  This individual will help oversee the communication and process of the year-end compensation for all portfolio managers. They will review configurations of any key compensation terms for any downstream systems.  They will participate in special projects as needed. They will also assist with monitoring and maintaining appropriate financial controls, policies, and procedures to support existing operations and continued growth.

 

What you’ll bring
What you need:

  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Strong working knowledge using Excel (pivot tables, lookup functions, count/ sumifs, index match, etc.)
  • 4-6 years of experience in a compensation function preferred
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to articulate issues and solutions to different audiences
  • Demonstrate sensitivity and judgement in handing confidential information
  • Process and detail oriented with a strong work ethic and team focused attitude
  • Able to adapt to frequent changes in the business operating environment
  • Highly organized and self-motivated
  • CPA Preferred

We’d love if you had:

  • Working knowledge of Advent Geneva and/or PowerBI
  • Mix in public accounting/buy side experience

The base pay for this role is expected to be between $120,000 and $135,000. The expected base pay range is based on information at the time this post was generated. This role may also be eligible for other forms of compensation such as a performance bonus and a competitive benefits package. Actual compensation for the successful candidate will be determined based on a variety of factors such as skills, qualifications, and experience.
