The Role

We are seeking an exceptionally talented and high energy Front Office Support Engineer to join our expanding global Front Office Support team in São Paulo, Brazil. The Front Office Support team is embedded within our Portfolio Management and Trading teams, providing monitoring, maintenance, and support for our most business-critical systems. You will be responsible for solving complex problems for our investment professionals and stakeholders and will serve as the first point of contact for troubleshooting any issue with our trading platform.

What makes this role interesting

The Front Office Support Engineer will focus on providing critical support for our Latin American based Fundamental Equity, Delta One, Macro and Tactical Trading Portfolio Managers, Traders and Analysts. You will manage a dynamic workload and gain exposure to many interesting facets of the firm, including by not limited to:

  • Front-row seat to the markets: You will sit on the trading floor, embedded within our Portfolio Management teams, gaining real-time exposure to multi-asset trading strategies and decision making.
  • Impact from day one: Resolution of a production incident and support provided to a Portfolio Manager will result in an immediate PnL impact.
  • Build and run: We don’t just troubleshoot – we optimize. You will have the autonomy to identify repetitive pain points and work with partner teams to automate and evolve our processes.
  • Global perspective: Follow-the-sun coverage means that every day brings a new challenge. You will learn best practices globally in collaboration with support leads in NAMR, EMEA, and APAC. Our goal is to provide enterprise-level support to our investment teams.

What you’ll do

  • Incident ownership: Triage, diagnose, and resolve real-time trading issues across our Order Management System (OMS)/Execution Management System (EMS), Bloomberg, and proprietary trading and execution tools/systems.
  • Stakeholder management: You will act as the technology “first responder” – our liaison and primary bridge between our front office users (traders and Portfolio Manager) and core engineering teams; translating trading asks into actionable technical work.
  • Service reliability: Maintain and evolve monitoring, alerting, and post-mortem trading processes; help to drive a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Project execution: Lead small, fast-cycle project from ideation/requirement gathering through production.
  • Product & Trading Workflows: Serve as the trading-platform SME, onboarding and supporting new users.

What you’ll bring

What you need:

  • 4+ years of financial services experience, supporting traders and Portfolio Managers (ideally at a hedge fund, investment bank, or electronic market-maker).
  • Experience working with Order Management Systems (OMS), Execution Management Systems (EMS), and Portfolio Management Systems (PMS) trading stacks
  • Experience supporting front office vendor trading systems (eg. Portware, Enfusion, Neovest, and SpiderRock)
  • Knowledge of equities, futures, FX, fixed income, and options trading strategies
  • Working knowledge of trading workflows, FIX, market data vendors (Bloomberg, Refinitiv), broker algos, and experience in various macro and fixed income asset classes.
  • Technical skills including SQL, FIX Protocol and Excel/VBA
  • Excellent verbal and written communication – ability to translate and explain complex issues to non-technical users
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure, take initiative in problem solving/actioning items, and identifying root-causes
  • Strong ownership experience and a track record of delivering results

We’d love if you had:

  • Strong business analysis/project management skills
  • Exposure to APIs
  • Derivatives and valuation experience – you understand Greeks, pricing models, and how traders interpret them, or have experience supporting systems that perform these actions
