New

2026 DMFI Summer Intern

New York, New York, United States

The Role

We are seeking a talented individual to join our DMFI (Discretionary Macro and Fixed Income) business in the New York office. You will join a small, high-impact team within DMFI Strategies focused on data-driven analysis across fixed income and macro markets. The team combines deep market intuition with rigorous quantitative methods to identify relative value opportunities in rates and broader fixed income. You will work directly alongside the Portfolio Manager and gain significant exposure to live trading, macro analysis, and the end-to-end investment process.

What you’ll do

  • Build and maintain fixed income analytics, valuation tools, and relative value frameworks used in idea generation and portfolio monitoring.
  • Develop research pipelines and production-quality tooling for data ingestion, analytics, backtesting, and risk analysis.
  • Analyse relative value opportunities across rates and fixed income markets using quantitative and statistical techniques.
  • Work with the PM to formalise trading intuition into quantitative models and repeatable research processes.
  • Improve the robustness, scalability, and maintainability of the team's codebase and analytical stack.

What you’ll bring

What you need:

  • Currently pursuing a highly quantitative disciplined degree.
  • Strong Python programming skills with significant experience on data-driven projects (data manipulation, visualisation, statistical modelling).
  • Solid grounding in quantitative analysis techniques — you are comfortable with statistics, linear algebra, and numerical methods.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for financial markets, particularly fixed income and macro.
  • Excellent attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and strong communication skills.
  • A software engineering mindset — you care about code quality, testing, and maintainability.
