2027 Quantitative Research Intern

The Role 

As a Quantitative Research Intern at Schonfeld Strategic Advisors, you'll work at the intersection of data science, financial markets and systematic trading, solving real-world problems that drive live investment strategies. This internship offers hands-on experience in quantitative research, supported by structured onboarding, a meaningful project of your own, and direct mentorship from senior researchers and portfolio managers. The internship will be 3-6 months, including the summer.  

 
What You’ll Do 

  • Take on real research challenges, a new predictive signal from alternative data, a better machine learning model or etc. 
  • Understand and contribute to the research platform, data pipelines, validation and backtest tools. 
  • Work alongside experienced traders, researchers, and developers to present what you find. 

 
What You’ll Bring  

  • Pursuing a Master's or PhD in a quantitative field. 
  • Strong coding skills and a good understanding of database usage. 
  • Solid grounding in probability, statistics and time-series analysis. 
  • Curious, skeptical of your own results, and a clear communicator

Our Internship 

Kick-start your career in finance with the Schonfeld Internship! Over the course of 3-6 action-packed months, you will have the opportunity to build solutions that tackle real-world challenges and leave a lasting impact on the firm. As an intern, you’ll join a close-knit team that is ready to support your growth and accelerate your career. We will pair you with a dedicated manager and a mentor who’ll guide your development over the course of the internship and beyond. Throughout the program, you will have the chance to connect with senior leaders through a series of learning sessions, attend hands-on skills workshops, network at social events and get a behind-the-scenes look at how various functions power the firm. We’ll empower you to bring your ideas to life and make an impact.
