Senior Scientist - Materials Science Modeling - Hyderabad
Schrödinger is on the cutting edge of computer-aided drug discovery and materials science, and our software suites continue to revolutionize the design of therapeutics and materials.
We are seeking a highly motivated Computational Materials Scientist with expertise in molecular quantum mechanics (QM) and extensive experience with Python programming in the context of simulation software. The successful candidate will work closely with our customers to help them use Schrödinger computational materials science tools and apply them to industrial applications.

- A Python and Bash programmer skilled in developing simulation tools, integrating computational chemistry software, and automating high-throughput simulations.

- A detail-oriented scientist eager to work on diverse projects with industrial partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform molecular simulations using Schrödinger tools.
- Develop and enhance Python and Bash scripts for simulation automation and data analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement molecular modeling solutions for various industries.
- Assist in developing and validating computational workflows for molecular simulations.
- Present technical results in internal and external meetings.
- Contribute to scientific publications and research projects.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
- Strong background in QM, and its applications in computational chemistry.
- Proven expertise in Python programming, particularly in conjunction with scientific software tools.
- Extensive knowledge of computational chemistry techniques and molecular materials modeling.
- Proven research track record of publications in computational modeling field
- Experience collaborating and/or cooperating on a team of diverse scientists
Nice-to-Have Qualifications:
- Background in material science or pharmaceutical formulation.
- Experience with molecular dynamics (MD) simulations
- Some experience with machine learning (ML) tools and application to materials design.
- Exposure to high-performance computing (HPC) environments and Linux operating systems.
- Experience working with various QM and MD software tools.
