Job Summary: A Full-Time Lab Aide at our Pathology Lab in San Jose. The Laboratory Assistant performs and documents laboratory analyses and tests.
Schedule: Availability Monday to Friday between business hours of 7am-6pm.
Essential Functions:
- Use automated equipment and computerized instruments
- Log data
- Coverslip slides
- File tissue blocks and slides
- Assist with tests or experiments, recording results, keeping logs and sorting through materials used in laboratory processes
- Assemble various types of laboratory equipment, sterilizing them when necessary
- Clean and organize a lab by preparing samples and microscope slides, and ensuring that equipment and chemicals are readily available
- Use and operate microscopes, machinery, meters, filters and pumps
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Associate Degree required
- Must be computer savvy and familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook with strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills with six months experience in a similar role.
- While performing the duties of this job, employee is regularly required to talk; hear; stand; walk; use hands to finger; handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. This position also requires long duration of sitting and working on a computer. May require lifting up to 25 pounds.

Hourly Pay Range
$21 - $22 USD
