Job Summary:  

The Registered Nurse: Allergy Lab & Clinical Nursing Supervisor will oversee the daily operations of immunotherapy compounding labs and manage allergy clinical nursing staff across all sites. The individual will ensure high standards in safety, compliance, training, and staffing to support seamless allergy services delivery.

Schedule: Monday - Friday 9am -6pm

Essential Functions: 

Immunotherapy Lab Oversight

  • Lead and participate in daily mixing operations, ensuring adherence to protocols for safe and accurate preparation of allergy immunotherapy and oral food immunotherapy prescriptions.
  • Supervise all lab staff across sites and serve as their direct manager.
  • Monitor and maintain appropriate lab inventory levels, coordinate ordering with the operations team, and oversee equipment readiness.
  • Ensure lab facilities comply with all applicable state, federal, and organizational quality standards, including maintaining necessary compliance documentation and lab hygiene.

Allergy Clinical Supervision

  • Serve as the trainer and clinical resource for all allergy nursing staff.
  • Provide real-time and scheduled clinical support and coverage, especially for newly trained nurses or during absences.
  • Oversee consistent execution of testing protocols (e.g., skin prick, intradermal), emergency preparedness, and documentation practices.
  • Ensure clinical escalation protocols are followed and partner with medical leadership on patient safety matters.

Training & Competency Management

  • Act as the primary trainer for lab and clinical nursing personnel, including:
    • Structured onboarding for new hires
    • Periodic retraining
    • Protocol updates
    • Annual competency assessments
  • Ensure consistency across sites in technique, documentation, safety practices, and patient communication.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Require and validate weekly QA documentation from all lab sites (e.g., completed checklists and photo logs), ensuring compliance tracking.
  • Conduct quarterly on-site inspections of each lab to ensure standards are met or exceeded.
  • Oversee staff participation in incident reporting systems; conduct or co-lead investigations and implement corrective actions where needed.
  • Maintain audit readiness by ensuring ongoing adherence to applicable regulations (e.g., state health departments, internal QA standards).

Performance & Leadership Management

  • Conduct or support performance evaluations for lab and clinical staff in partnership with Allergy Operations, Medical Leadership, and HR.
  • Identify and address knowledge gaps or workflow inconsistencies through individualized coaching and performance plans.
  • Support career development pathways and cross-training initiatives for team growth.

Cross-Site Coordination & Communication

  • Maintain proactive, transparent communication with:
    • Medical leadership (e.g., medical director, lab lead)
    • Operations management (e.g., GM, RM)
    • Clinical staff as applicable
    • Administrative support teams
  • Participate in strategic initiatives (e.g., opening new locations, service line growth, or piloting new models).
  • Monitor workload distribution and collaborate on staffing adjustments and scheduling support.

Reporting & Metrics Tracking

  • Track and report on:
    • QA compliance rates
    • Training completion and re-certification
    • Testing and mixing volumes
    • Incident trends and corrective actions
    • Supplies spend and clinic invoicing
  • Use data to support continuous improvement and leadership visibility.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor on an as needed basis.

Qualifications:

  • Active RN license (multi-state or compact license preferred).
  • Minimum 3–5 years of nursing experience, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or lead capacity.
  • Experience in allergy, clinical labs, or similar regulated healthcare environments preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, especially managing geographically dispersed teams.
  • Strong working knowledge of QA documentation, incident reporting, and regulatory compliance.
  • Skilled in using digital tools for compliance tracking and internal reporting.
  • Effective communicator, problem-solver, and collaborator across clinical and operational teams.
  • Committed to excellence in patient care, staff development, and clinical quality.
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA & OSHA compliance

Travel

Travel will also be required to various clinic locations for training, inspections, and clinical support, based on the needs of Allergy Department leadership. Additional travel may be required as allergy operations expand or in response to site-specific needs

Salary Pay Range

$90,000 - $108,000 USD
