What we’re looking for…
ScienceLogic is seeking for The Principal Engineer, Test responsible for leading the test strategy, automation, and validation efforts to ensure the highest quality standards. This role involves designing robust test frameworks, mentoring engineers, driving continuous improvement in test methodologies, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance products.
What you’ll be doing…
- Test Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement comprehensive test strategies, including automation, performance, security, and reliability testing.
- Automation Development: Design and maintain automated test frameworks, tools, and CI/CD pipelines to optimize testing efficiency.
- BDD Framework Implementation: Utilize Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) frameworks such as Cucumber, Behave, or SpecFlow to enhance test automation.
- Quality Assurance Leadership: Provide technical guidance on best practices for testing, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Collaboration & Mentorship: Work closely with development, product management, and operations teams while mentoring junior engineers.
- Defect Management: Identify, track, and analyze defects using Jira and Xray, ensuring test coverage and traceability.
- Performance Optimization: Conduct scalability and performance testing to enhance system robustness.
- Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives in testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
Qualities you possess…
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in software/system testing, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong programming skills in Python for test automation.
- Expertise in test automation frameworks, including Selenium, Cypress, JUnit, and TestNG.
- Experience with BDD frameworks (Cucumber, Behave, SpecFlow, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with Jira and Xray for test management, defect tracking, and reporting.
- Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps, etc.).
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and microservices testing.
- Familiarity with security, performance, and reliability testing.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
