Lead Game Designer
What You’ll Do
- Report to the Design Director, assisting on the creative vision and strategic roadmap, crafting game systems, features and iterative improvements
- Lead a small team of game designers, providing them with mentorship, lending them your expertise and helping them improve their craft and deliver on their goals
- Work with the production team to allocate design tasks and manage a balanced workload
- Transform high-level goals into detailed, actionable granular design specifications
- Contribute to and provide feedback on system design, through Excel modelling, balancing and tuning
- Expertly communicate design initiatives to stakeholders through clear presentations and walkthroughs
- Collaborate with and encourage cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality player experiences that meet the design and product goals
- Successfully balance design iteration against production milestones to ensure timely and effective pre-production
- Establish, communicate and evolve design team standards and processes
- Gather and apply competitive intelligence, research trends, insights, and best-practices in the industry to design an engaging game experience for our target audience
- Work with product and analytics teams to understand player behaviour and game performance to suggest design-led improvements to Important metrics
What We’re Looking For
- Several years of experience designing mobile F2P games, preferably on industry-leading games
- Strong feature design experience, including challenges, season-pass, clubs, etc
- Excel skills to model and balance game systems
- Excellent written and verbal English skills
- Communication skills that ensure your vision is clearly understood by a wide audience
- The ability to think on your feet and make informed and logical decisions quickly
- Dedication to quality in everything that you do
- Capability to switch between practical and theoretical thinking when required
- Proactive attitude toward work and continuous personal development
- An understanding of game project cycles and development methodologies
- A passion for all things game design and a clear focus on player experience
