Art Director - WWE Champions

Scopely is looking for a passionate, talented, and experienced Art Director with a specialization in UX and UI to guide a visual and usability refresh of our classic game, WWE Champions. You will be responsible for generating exciting and polished visuals in a highly agile and iterative game design and release process, collaborating with our external development partner. This is a remote role, with a preference for the West Coast time zones. While there is some people management in this role, it also calls for hands-on effort.

WWE Champions is our ultimate and unique RPG puzzle match game featuring WWE superstars and legends across mobile and PC platforms.  WWE Champions is the most downloaded WWE game to date, with a highly engaged and passionate community - who will remain undefeated? 

What You Will Do  

• Identify strong opportunities to improve and polish a beloved and well-known game to a new level of competitiveness
• Create clear style guides that lay out a blueprint for the game’s look and feel in support of the design objectives
• Collaborate closely with the Product team to identify the visual and UX needs of features that will enhance player understanding and excitement.
• Drive the general visual and UX refresh of the game, which is due for modernization
• Be the owner for the execution of the UI/UX and be proactive in reviewing, compiling feedback, and communicating updates internally and giving direction to external developers

What We’re Looking For  

• Shipped and operated at least one mobile title as Art Director
• Experience in developing social games on mobile platforms, with a preference to the RPG space
• Ability to create a vision for the look and feel of the game
• Expert sense of color, layout, composition, readability, information hierarchy and audience sensibility
• Expert understanding of UI/UX and the market
• The ability to understand player motivations ranging from new players to advanced
• Understanding of the market and competitive landscape to be able to reference and quickly understand opportunities and improvements
• Ability to strategically use data or usability tests to improve designs
• Ability to work well with external developers in different time zones
• Understanding of what drives player behaviors in an RPG
• Minimum of 10 years experience in game development
