Technical Director - Infrastructure and Core Tech

Team Leadership & Management: Oversee multiple infrastructure and core tech engineering teams. Lead recruitment, onboarding, and professional development of the engineering team.

Strategic Planning: Partner with stakeholders to define and implement the future technology evolution. Identify engineering tasks and develop strategies for roadmap execution in collaboration with Engineering Leads.

Quality Assurance & Best Practices: Promote productive methodologies, solid coding practices, and thorough code reviews to ensure long-term quality. Develop contingency plans to mitigate technical risks.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Maintain positive working relationships with internal technology teams to leverage shared technologies. Enable effective communication across disciplines to foster team synergy.

Performance Management: Manage team performance while nurturing growth and innovation within the engineering organization.

Reporting & Communication: Report directly to the VP of Engineering for STFC. Facilitate transparent and regular internal communications to sustain a positive team atmosphere.
What We’re Looking For

Demonstrated experience leading infrastructure and core technology teams in environments that blend technology with creativity, especially within the tech or gaming sectors

Proven experience with live operable Product/Software/Game as a Service

Expertise in AWS services, showcasing technology as a force multiplier for creativity and efficiency
-
Proven experience operating cloud based, high performant distributed systems
-
Proficient in Python, C#, and Redis for large-scale applications

Exceptional leadership and communication skills with a strong ability to inspire and cultivate a culture of shared success and innovation

Proficient in growing teams and mentoring talent effectively.

Experience with game development processes

Coming from free to play game industry a big plus

Acumen in technical product management

Familiarity with Agile methodologies within technical teams

Knowledge of game engines such as Unity.
