QA Analyst - Star Trek Fleet Command
You will work with both internal and external (offshore) teams to support regular feature, content or technical releases from concept through to launch, all the while retaining the utmost levels of quality through the use of as variety of tools and processes.
- Proactively understand the quality team's needs and efforts at any given time, coordinating with QA leadership to drive prioritisation and help direct your efforts between the various STFC pods
- As a team player, support pods during QA vacancies and absences to ensure any voids are plugged as to not negatively impact timelines or roadmaps
- Be a leading advocate for good process and governance practices, working closely with the QA Leadership team to understand department direction, and holding the game teams accountable to meeting these standards
- As someone who will be exposed to a wide array of teams within the STFC project, understand what works well (and could potentially be used across other pods), and where certain teams may be struggling when it comes to quality, highlighting and supporting improvements
- Engage and provide feedback as early as the brief/design stages via static testing, highlighting additional test tool/cheat needs, pre-production quality concerns, or similar things alike
- Support with the creation, maintenance and coverage of relevant suites and associated test cases across the different teams you engage with
- Review and challenge team test plans, including scope of coverage, estimate accuracy, and resourcing needs from conception through to release
- Be aware of and monitor app health from an holistic viewpoint, such as ANRs & Crash Rates, via tools such as Datadog / Google Play / Apple Connect, particularly following a release in which you have supported
- Aligning with QA leadership, help standardise processes across pods and Clusters alike, providing feedback and suggestions to better these where applicable
- Work closely with Customer Support & the Live & Release Cluster to investigate, document and (where necessary) push for swift resolution of Live issues, owning and understanding where potential gaps existed, and plugging these for future circumstances
What We’re Looking For
- Must have games industry experience
- Excellent verbal/written communication and an excellent attention to detail
- Strong time management, accountability and organisational skills
- Proactive, enthusiastic and self-motivated
- A strong commercial awareness with an understanding of business priorities and goals
- Exceptional reporting capabilities
- Extensive knowledge of JIRA and / or similar bug tracking systems
Bonus Points
- Background in Automation testing
- Mobile exposure and an understanding of Apple / Google submission protocol
- A sound understanding of the gaming industry and the typical end to end development lifecycle
- A background working on F2P mobile games
