Game AI Lead

Scopely is looking for a Game AI Lead to join our unannounced project in Barcelona on a hybrid basis 3 days a week or in any of the rest of our locations in the UK, Portugal and Ireland. We can support with visa sponsorship and relocation assistance.

We are in the early stages of development on an ambitious, unannounced, cross-platform Strategy/MMO title, creating a team of talented and passionate game makers to join us on this exciting journey!

What You Will Do

• Lead the development and implementation of advanced AI technologies for customer-facing game experiences, ensuring immersive, responsive, and engaging gameplay.
• Champion internal AI-driven productivity tools and solutions, enhancing workflow automation, predictive analytics, and content generation.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including game designers, developers, product managers, and data scientists, to integrate AI seamlessly within the development process.
• Stay abreast of the latest AI research and industry trends, leveraging insights to propose innovative solutions and maintain competitive advantage.
• Clearly communicate AI concepts, strategy, and outcomes to stakeholders and executive leadership.

What We’re Looking For  

• Experience working in AI, machine learning, or related technology areas, preferably in the gaming industry.
• Proven expertise in developing and deploying AI models and tools in customer-facing applications and internal productivity systems.
• Strong proficiency in AI programming languages and frameworks (e.g., Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Demonstrated ability to think strategically about AI opportunities and effectively translate vision into actionable roadmaps.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of software engineering best practices and trends.

Bonus Points

• Experience with game-specific AI (NPC behavior, procedural content generation, player analytics).
• Knowledge of cloud computing platforms and deployment of scalable AI solutions.
• Published research or significant industry contributions related to AI.
• Knowledge of game design principles and user experience.
• Experience in mobile and/or PC game development.
