Release QA Analyst - Monopoly GO!

Scopely is looking for a Release QA Analyst  to join our Monopoly Go! team in Barcelona on a hybrid basis.

Monopoly GO! is our new casual game and a key franchise that has just become one of Scopely’s largest games enjoyed by millions of players. The team is based in Europe and the US, and works every day to create captivating new experiences for our players.

What You Will Do 

Reporting into the QA Management, with strong ties to the Release Management Team, you will work alongside multiple closely knitted groups known as pods (and the QA representatives within them), as they promote their work into a collective release candidate build. You will help ensure quality and provide clarity from a holistic viewpoint as we venture through the Release Train, leading up to public release and beyond. 

As a key contributor to the culture of quality within Scopely, you will help shape the future on how we continue to iterate to success, and evolve the way we work.  Being an integral part of the release process for Scopely’s flagship product, MonopolyGo, with a core focus on holistic and collective quality, your responsibilities will include:

  • Drive the creation, maintenance and coverage of the Critical Path test suite and other associated test cases, tailored to the needs of the QA & Release Management team
  • Work with QA Leadership and the Release Management team to build on existing team metrics for measurement of quality and operational excellence 
  • Monitor app health from an holistic viewpoint, such as ANRs & Crash Rates, using Google Play and Apple Connect, particularly following a release
  • With the directional support from QA management and the Release Management teams, continually assess and improve the operational efficiency and effectiveness of the QA & Deployment pipelines 
  • Generate reports that highlight the quality and operational side of the releases (overtime needs, change requests, incidents etc.) as well as suggest improvements for future releases
  • Work closely with the different development Pods to understand the new features and content inbound release on release, and how they interact with one another and the existing product
  • Promote good practices within Testrail, with a particular focus on the housing of test runs through structured Milestones, ensuring visibility and clarity on holistic release quality 
  • Liaise and coordinate with multiple offshore test teams, helping to promote correct standards and expectations, while monitoring progress and results
  • Work closely with the development teams to understand scope of change and the impact to other areas of the product that may require quality control considerations release on release
  • Work with Customer Support & the Live & Release team to monitor, investigate, document and (where necessary) push for swift resolution of live issues, owning and understanding where potential gaps existed, and helping plug these for future circumstances

What We’re Looking For 

  • Strong verbal / written communication and an excellent attention to detail 
  • Strong time management, accountability and organizational skills 
  • An ability to negotiate and ensure you and your team's message is heard, all the while with a sound business understanding to ensure correct balance and needs are met 
  • Proactive, enthusiastic and self-motivated  
  • Flexible to an agile setup with the ability to multitask, managing coverage for multiple high profile releases with strict deadlines 
  • A strong commercial awareness with an understanding of business priorities and goals 
  • Exceptional reporting capabilities 
  • Extensive knowledge of JIRA and / or similar bug tracking systems 
  • Mobile exposure and an understanding of Apple / Google submission protocol
  • Exposure to real time error tracking tools like Bugsnag
  • A sound understanding of the gaming industry and the typical end to end development lifecycle
