Scopely is looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Web Development) to join the Bingo Bash team in Bangalore on a hybrid basis!

Bingo Bash is a highly international team working on the biggest video game from India to date (measured by revenue). Here you will work on a top-grossing F2P game with significant and growing daily revenues, and help create fresh content for our players.

What You’ll Do

  • Full Ownership of Web Development: Be solely responsible for all web development activities for Bingo Bash
  • Internal Tool Development & Modernization: Design, develop, update, and maintain a suite of responsive, web-based internal tools vital for game operations, analytics, content management, and team productivity. This includes assessing existing tools, identifying areas for improvement, and leading their modernization or re-development
  • Public Website Management: Take ownership of the bingobash.com website, ensuring it's up-to-date, performant, secure, and visually appealing, reflecting the game's brand and engaging our player community
  • Exceptional UI/UX Implementation: Lead the implementation of clean, intuitive, and highly responsive user interfaces for all web applications, ensuring an optimal experience across a wide range of devices (PC, tablets, mobile phones)
  • API Collaboration & Consumption: Work closely with our backend engineering team to define and consume crucial APIs. You'll also develop and maintain trivial APIs as needed, ensuring adherence to our existing development practices
  • Architectural Design & Best Practices: Define and implement robust web architecture, coding standards, and best practices for frontend development. Promote maintainability, scalability, and security across all web project.
  • Technical Problem Solving: Proactively identify and resolve complex technical challenges related to web development, performance, and cross-browser/device compatibility
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with game engineers, testers, data analysts, product managers, designers, and marketing teams to understand their requirements and translate them into effective web solutions
  • Stay Current: Continuously research and evaluate new web technologies, frameworks, and trends to ensure our web solutions remain cutting-edge and efficient
  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all web projects, tools, and processes

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in web development, with a strong portfolio showcasing responsive frontend applications and impactful UI development
  • Expert-level proficiency in core web technologies: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+)
  • Strong experience with at least one modern front-end framework/library (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js)
  • Demonstrable experience in building and maintaining internal tools, understanding the specific needs of operational workflows
  • Proficiency in designing and consuming RESTful APIs. Some experience in developing simple, well-documented APIs is also required
  • Deep understanding of responsive web design principles and mobile-first development methodologies
  • Strong grasp of database concepts for efficient data interaction from the frontend
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)
  • Proven ability to take ownership of projects from conception to deployment with minimal supervision. A self-starter who thrives in an autonomous environment
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail in UI implementation and user experience
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and articulate technical decisions

Bonus

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and DevOps practices
  • Experience with analytics and tracking implementation in web applications
  • A passion for games and understanding of the live service game ecosystem
