Staff Accountant

Scopely is looking for a Staff Accountant to join our Finance team in Barcelona on a hybrid basis working 3 days a week from the hub.

What You Will Do 

• This person will assist in the day-to-day operations of the Accounting team as well as own and manage specified Accounting initiatives and projects in perpetuity.
• Intercompany Reconciliation: Perform monthly intercompany income/expense entries and reconciliations of intercompany balances to ensure accurate transfer pricing, recording and elimination of transactions between several Scopely group companies, including monitoring settlements between companies
• Assist with the calculation and preparation of monthly cost allocations impacting multiple entities and countries
• Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or variances in assigned balance sheet accounts promptly, collaborating with relevant departments or teams when necessary
• Support month end close processes across multiple accounting areas
• Prepare supporting documentation for quarterly and annual reporting packages as necessary, working closely with the Reporting and Consolidation team
• Help to prepare relevant accounting memos and update existing memos as necessary; partner with Technical Accounting team to finalize drafts and updates
• Collaborate effectively with various teams, subsidiaries, and external auditors to address queries and provide necessary information during audits

What We’re Looking For 

• Minimum 3 years experience in general ledger accounting, or similar; payroll accounting a plus
• Bachelor's or associate's degree in accounting, or in a related specialization
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
• Experience in working in an international company over multiple locations
• Demonstrated history of process improvements
• Excellent communications skills in English
• Excellent analytical skills
• Advanced user of Microsoft Excel and other MS packages

Bonus Points 

• Prior experience working with Oracle will be an advantage
