Senior Technical Product Manager - Star Trek Fleet Command
Scopely is looking for a Senior Technical Product Manager to join our Star Trek™ Fleet Command team within our Midcore division on a hybrid/remote basis in Dublin, Ireland.
Star Trek Fleet Command is a standout success in the gaming industry. Launched in 2018, our in-house developed 4X Strategy MMO has continually evolved, earning its place as one of the top-grossing games on the market.
At Scopely, we care deeply about what we do and want to inspire play every day - whether in our work environments alongside our talented colleagues or through our deep connections with our communities of players. We are a global team of game lovers who are developing, publishing and innovating the mobile games industry, connecting millions of people around the world daily.
What You Will Do
This role is central to ensuring we plan, prioritize, and communicate our technology needs effectively across the studio. As a senior member of the discipline, you will help shape clear, balanced technology roadmaps, ensure technical requirements are well understood, and support teams and leadership with high-quality insights that enable strong decision-making. You will also play a part in coaching and supporting junior Technical Product Managers, helping them develop their craft and navigate cross-team collaboration.
You will report on progress, risks, and completions for technical projects, as well as on technical performance, while ensuring that technical work is represented, communicated, and celebrated. This role is well suited for someone with a strong technical background and hands-on experience, who also excels at clarity, communication, organization, and translating technical considerations into actionable product and studio understanding.
You will report to the Technical Director for Infrastructure and Core Tech.
- Define the end-to-end lifecycle of technical products across infrastructure, core technologies, and game services
- Build and communicate clear, outcome-focused technical roadmaps that balance team needs, user value, and engineering realities
- Work closely with partners across engineering, product, analytics, and operations to understand problems, shape opportunities, and define meaningful technical work
- Use strong domain understanding to guide product decisions and highlight dependencies, risks, and long-term considerations
- Explain scope, trade-offs, and progress clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Bring teams into alignment around priorities, ensuring everyone understands goals, requirements, and decision points
- Interpret data and system behaviour to inform planning, prioritisation, and adjustments to the roadmap
- Present insights and recommendations to senior leadership in a clear, impact-driven way
- Partner closely with engineering and production to ensure technical projects are well-scoped, planned, and tracked through delivery
- Identify risks early and help teams navigate challenges without losing sight of outcomes
- Support strategic discussions that shape future technical direction and planning across teams
- Mentor junior TPMs by sharing good practices in scoping, communication, and stakeholder management
- Contribute to raising the bar for TPM craft through clear documentation, structured planning, and strong product thinking
What We're Looking For
- Strong understanding of technical concepts across infrastructure, services, pipelines, or platform systems
- Experience leading technical product lifecycles, defining scope, and delivering outcomes in partnership with engineering and production
- Excellent communication skills—able to translate complex technical issues for varied audiences and synthesize clear, actionable narratives
- Proven ability to align diverse stakeholders, manage trade-offs, and drive clarity in ambiguous spaces
- Demonstrated ability to use data, insights, and product judgment to inform decisions and shape roadmaps
- Experience planning, prioritizing, and organizing complex technical work across multiple teams
- A proactive, outcome-driven approach with strong ownership and follow-through
- Typically 5–8+ years of experience in technical product, technical program, engineering, or related fields
Bonus Points
- Experience working on live service or free-to-play games, especially with large-scale feature pipelines or player-facing services
- Familiarity with game development workflows, including build systems, CI/CD pipelines, engine/tooling ecosystems, mobile app distribution, and content creation processes
- A good grasp of game telemetry, experiment frameworks, and how player behaviour translates into system requirements
- Experience supporting technical teams through major transitions — e.g. service migrations, platform upgrades, scaling challenges, or workflow overhauls
- Strong intuition for what improves developer experience and team velocity inside a game studio
- A passion for games and curiosity about how different genres, engines, and systems are built under the hood
At Scopely, we create games for everyone - and want to ensure that the people behind our games reflect that! We are committed to creating a diverse, supportive work environment where everyone is treated with respect. We are committed to providing equal employment opportunities and welcome individuals from all backgrounds to join us & embrace the adventure!
