Director of Marketing - Monster Hunter Now
Niantic is looking for a Marketing Director to lead the go-to-market strategy and execution of marketing communication for Monster Hunter Now. The ideal candidate possesses a genuine passion for the product, and can handle multiple responsibilities.
In this role, you will lead a team of skilled, savvy, and hardworking marketers to build impactful consumer touchpoints across user acquisition, social media, community engagement, and IRL events. You will also work with executives, cross-functional teammates, and external business partners. Most importantly, you’ll have a lot of fun while contributing to Niantic's mission of inspiring people to explore the world, together.
As this is a global product, you will need to collaborate with teammates from around the world to ensure consistency and accuracy across all regions for any marketing initiative.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Monster Hunter Now marketing team by demonstrating in-depth knowledge of mobile game/app marketing tactics, user acquisition, engagement and retention, as well as effective general marketing practices.
- Together with the team, solidify product positioning, author key messaging, and help develop marketing campaigns.
- Define and successfully implement go-to-market, engagement & retention strategies in close coordination with fellow marketing colleagues and cross-functional partners such as Product Management, Business Development, Operations, Communications, and Legal.
- Own and manage the marketing budget for Monster Hunter Now. Conduct return on investment analyses on all campaigns and apply takeaways to future programs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional team members and external partners to cultivate strong working relationships with project team members, including regular and reliable attendance and participation in meetings.
- Nurture relationships with key executives in Japan and US, and drive global alignment on major marketing initiatives.
- Guide the team in a multi-cultural environment.
- Required in-office attendance 3 days a week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
Qualifications
- 14+ years of relevant marketing experience in areas including: product positioning strategies that factor in market dynamics and user insights, paid media campaign strategy and management including creative development, agency selection, media planning & buying, campaign tracking, and optimization, social media marketing.
- Experience working on a highly cross-functional with the ability to coordinate dynamic projects with internal and external partners.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in English and Japanese, with experience in developing and delivering executive-level presentations.
- Deep understanding and passion for Niantic’s mission and values.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced hybrid environment. Handle stress appropriately. Solve practical problems and adapt to dynamic situations with little notice.
