Sr. Localization Program Manager
Scopely is looking for a Senior Localization Producer to join our Central Localization Program in Barcelona on a hybrid basis or in Montreal Canada.
At Scopely, we care deeply about what we do and want to inspire play, every day - whether in our work environments alongside our talented colleagues, or through our deep connections with our communities of players. We are a global team of game lovers who are developing, publishing and innovating the mobile games industry, connecting millions of people around the world daily.
Scopely’s Localization Program sits at the center of Studio Operations, in an advisory and supportive role for Localization and LQA across the Scopely portfolio. Our goal is simple: make sure game teams have the knowledge, tools, and partnerships they need to deliver a delightful localized player experience, with natural language and efficient operations that keep players coming back.
What You Will Do
We’re looking for a Senior Localization Producer to join the Central Localization Program and lead multiple initiatives across the portfolio. In this role, your superpower is people: building trust, influencing without authority, and getting diverse teams aligned around a shared localization vision.
You’ll be a key advocate for the localized player experience and a driver of how we use technology—especially AI—to support Localization and LQA at scale. Working from the vision set by the Director of Localization, you’ll help lead the development of new features and tools by gathering needs from game teams, shaping clear requirements, and aligning priorities. You’ll work closely with our QA Automation team, who design and build the tools, making sure everyone stays connected and focused on solutions that actually solve real problems for our players and internal teams.
We’re looking for someone who is highly autonomous, comfortable owning problems end-to-end, and who naturally thinks in terms of opportunities and “what could be”, not just “what is”.
You’ll work across large and diverse teams to guide them through the localization journey, solve problems around Localization and LQA, and sometimes directly manage projects that lead to successful global launches and long-running live service operations. Within the Central Localization Program, you’ll “own” several localization accounts, which can be game teams or other departments within Scopely.
- Build strong, trust-based relationships with game teams, studio leadership, central partners, and vendors—and use those relationships to move our localization agenda forward
- Influence without formal authority: help teams see the value of good localization, AI-enabled workflows, and process improvements, and bring them along on the journey
- Act as a thought partner to game teams and other stakeholders on all things Localization and LQA, turning their needs and pain points into clear opportunities and solutions
- Lead our AI localization tools as a product owner/manager:
- Collect needs and feedback from game teams, vendors, and internal partners
- Help shape and maintain the roadmap for new features and improvements
- Coordinate with the tech team on specs, priorities, and delivery
- Own the ongoing communication stream so stakeholders know what’s coming, what’s changing, and why
- Support teams in delivering an excellent localized player experience for both on-game and off-game content across all titles
- Make sure development practices across the portfolio build in internationalization and a global mindset from the start
- Proactively spot opportunities where AI, tooling, processes, or collaboration models can improve localization and LQA quality, efficiency, or scalability—and turn those opportunities into concrete projects
- Lead and contribute to initiatives across the games portfolio; define, track, and uphold Localization/LQA standards and performance KPIs
- Manage external localization partner(s): refine processes, align expectations, set KPIs, and keep a close eye on quality in and out
- Capture learnings from projects and day-to-day operations, identify patterns and areas of improvement, and share solutions across the portfolio
- Participate in recurring Studio Operations and Central Localization meetings to drive cross-pollination and synergies between programs, game teams, and studios
- Stay up to date on localization and LQA trends (AI, MT, UGC localization, automation, etc.) and make pragmatic recommendations on what we should adopt—and what we shouldn’t
- Operate with a high degree of autonomy, driving initiatives end-to-end from problem framing and opportunity discovery through rollout and follow-up, while keeping stakeholders informed and aligned
What We’re Looking For
- Solid experience with localization, LQA, and VO
- Outstanding interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with a track record of collaborating effectively across disciplines, levels, and cultures
- Strong influencing skills: you’re comfortable challenging the status quo, aligning stakeholders with different priorities, and gaining buy-in without formal authority
- Highly autonomous and solutions-oriented, committed to driving initiatives forward and fixing issues not only internally but also with partner studios and vendors
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to adapt your message to technical and non-technical audiences
- 5+ years as a localization producer or program manager in a gaming studio or a globally shipped entertainment product
- Console localization deployment experience
- AAA cross platform game localization experience
- Proven ability to experiment and troubleshoot, with a desire to explore new trends and turn them into practical workflows
- Demonstrated experience with, or strong aptitude for, AI- and technology-driven localization workflows (e.g., MT, GPT/LLM-based tools, localization/LQA automation), and an interest in shaping how these tools are used in production
- Excellent analytical skills: you can understand, simplify, and solve complex problems.
- Strong attention to detail
- Knowledge of and ability to work with localization content management systems (CMS tools)
- Good knowledge of office-type programs, bug software, and tools related to planning, scheduling, and QA
- Experience working with multicultural, globally distributed teams on projects and processes
Bonus Points
- Experience working with CAT tools
- Hands-on experience or strong interest in localization innovation (AI, MT, UGC localization, automation frameworks, or similar)
- Experience working in sprints or agile environments
- Proficiency in one or more additional languages
