Associate Art Director - Monopoly GO!
Scopely is looking for a Associate Art Director to join our Monopoly GO! team in our Barcelona Hub on a hybrid basis!

This role owns the end-to-end art direction, ensuring a cohesive, high-quality, and player-centric visual experience across a wide range of features—from UI-driven systems to content-heavy initiatives. You will play a key role not only in defi ning visual direction, but in shaping how the team thinks: challenging assumptions, pushing for clarity, and helping teams understand the why behind creative decisions. This is a highly collaborative and hands-on leadership role that requires strong communication, creative conviction, and the ability to operate across different problem spaces.
What You Will Do:
- Own and drive the Art Direction across different teams, ensuring consistency, quality, and alignment with the game vision
- Set clear, actionable creative direction across features and initiatives, working across UI, 2D, 3D, Animation, and VFX
- Lead creative thinking, facilitating brainstorms and engaging the team to defi ne strong, thoughtful creative solutions—not just execute on briefs
- Challenge and elevate the work, bringing clarity to ambiguous problems and helping teams understand the why behind decisions
- Act as a true creative partner to Product, UX, Engineering, and Production—shaping solutions, not just delivering assets
- Build and lead a high-performing team, including performance reviews, goal setting, and ongoing development of the Barcelona-based art teams
- Drive the adoption of AI in art workflows, identifying opportunities and setting clear expectations for the team to leverage tools such as Scenario, Nano Banana, and other emerging technologies to improve speed, exploration, and quality
- Establish a strong art culture that maximizes team potential, encourages ownership, and promotes proactive cross-discipline collaboration
- Ensure team health, supporting morale, identifying training needs, and aligning resourcing with priorities
- Partner closely with Art Production to build efficient, scalable, and high-quality art pipelines and processes
- Serve on the leadership team for 2 lines of business, collaborating with other craft executives across product, production, engineering, analytics and people functions. Contribute to strategic direction and prioritization of business goals and development of team culture
- Contribute to product and studio-level planning, bringing a strong creative perspective to strategic decisions
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience as an Art Director or Associate Art Director on a live game
- Strong background in UI/UX-driven environments, with the ability to guide visual decisions in UI-heavy systems
- Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams (UI, 2D, 3D, Animation, VFX)
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to infl uence and align cross-functional teams
- Ability to challenge ideas constructively, bringing clarity, direction, and creative conviction
- Strong artistic judgment across composition, color, style, and visual storytelling
- Deep understanding of how art supports gameplay, UX, and player experience
- Experience in live operations environments, ideally within mobile or social games
- Demonstrated ability to build team culture and develop talent
- Experience working with or driving AI-supported creative workflows
