About the job

Scopely is looking for an Artist to join our Slate Development Group in China/Shanghai area.

At Scopely, we care deeply about what we do and want to inspire play, every day - whether in our work environments alongside our talented colleagues, or through our deep connections with our communities of players. We are a global team of game lovers who are developing, publishing and innovating the mobile games industry, connecting millions of people around the world daily.

Slate Development Group owns Scopely’s editorial and content strategy, including the company’s greenlighting, Game Development Framework (GDF), studio strategy (organic and inorganic) and slate-wide budget and investment strategy.

What You Will Do

As an Artist, you will be responsible for creating visually stunning, gameplay-focused content that defines the look, feel, and readability of our action-RPG (ARPG) worlds. You will collaborate closely with the Art Leads, level designers, concept artists, tech artists, and VFX teams to build immersive content that supports fast-paced ARPG combat, cinematic set-pieces, and strong narrative identity.

  • Review and curate art assets from external partners to ensure strong visual quality, readability, and on-brand heroic tone.
  • Provide clear, concise feedback that supports fast iteration within mobile production constraints, connecting Scopely with our Dev Partners in China time zones.
  • Act as the secondary art contact between external developers, internal teams, and the brand owner.
  • Prepare and support art submissions for brand review and approval.
  • Uphold visual standards, style guides, and reference for characters, environments, VFX, and UI.
  • Identify and resolve creative or brand risks early in development.

What we are looking for

  • 2-5 years’ experience in game art, with shipped mobile titles preferred.
  • Strong understanding of heroic action aesthetics, character appeal, and visual clarity on small screens.
  • Experience working with external studios and licensed or brand-driven IPs.
  • Confident communicator with strong visual judgment and feedback skills.
  • Proficiency in English

About You:

You’ll be collaborative, positive and enthusiastic in your approach to making the highest quality games in the industry. You’ll have excellent attention to detail, a sharp artistic eye and a thorough knowledge of the creative process.

Please ensure that the résumé/CV you attach is written in English.
