About the Work

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our finance team. You will report to the Manager, Accounting and be responsible for day-to-day accounting, financial reporting, and technical accounting activities for the sports betting, online casino, media and general and administrative areas of operations. In this role, the individual will be a key contributor in the monthly accounting close process, assist in technical accounting and financial reporting projects, and support the continuous improvement of processes and growth of each business. About the Role

  • Support the accounting and reporting functions of complex monthly working papers including, but not limited to, online sports betting and online casino operations, revenue shares, and commission calculations
  • Provide advice and guidance on technical accounting matters, including research of new and developing U.S. GAAP standards, and practical application to PI
  • Post journal entries to record business transactions.
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations to validate the completeness and accuracy of GL account balances.
  • Support the preparation of financial statements and related disclosures.
  • Coordinate requests with internal and external auditors
  • Develop and maintain knowledge and understanding of rules and regulations as promulgated by, among other governing bodies, FASB generally accepted accounting principles, the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Internal Revenue Service, state departments of revenue, and state gaming commissions
  • Support internal control and process improvement projects
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters.
  • Comply with all accounting and financial reporting internal controls as required by internal policy
  • Enthusiastically support, actively promote, and demonstrate superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs.
  • Assist with other ad hoc accounting and finance projects as needed.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

About You

  • Bachelor’s Degree with specialization in accounting and/or related field; 3+ years of Accounting experience.
  • CPA required
  • Must have the ability to understand and apply basic concepts of US GAAP
  • Must have the ability to present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and employees.
  • Superior communication skills; both written and verbal. Communication methods used in this position include video, telephone, in-person and e-mail
  • Must have the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
  • Must have the ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
  • Proven analytical, communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Intermediate computer knowledge; MS Office.
  • Experience with Oracle is an asset
