Drug Safety Co-Op/Internship (Spring-Paid)
Scorpion is a clinical-stage, precision oncology company developing transformational targeted therapies for patients with cancer. We have built proprietary and fully-integrated discovery capabilities leveraging the most advanced technologies across cancer biology, medicinal chemistry and data sciences. Our current pipeline, led by our mutant-selective PI3Ka program STX-478, consists of three internally discovered clinical product candidates in addition to multiple discovery-stage programs. Our focus is on solving current gaps in therapeutic options for patients with cancer by discovering and developing exquisitely-selective product candidates against well-validated, previously undruggable argets to improve patient outcomes.
Hourly Rate: $25-$30/hr
Location: South San Francisco

Position Overview:
The Drug Safety Co-Op/Intern will play a crucial role within our Drug Safety and Pharmacovigilance team. This Co-Op/Intern will gain hands-on experience in monitoring and assessing drug safety data, supporting regulatory compliance, and contributing to our overall mission to deliver safer, more effective treatments. This position is ideal for students or recent graduates looking to build a career in drug safety, regulatory affairs, or the broader field of pharmaceutical sciences.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in collecting, reviewing, and analyzing adverse event data and other safety information from clinical trial sources.
- Support case processing, including case intake, quality check, and follow-up, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Help prepare safety reports and other documentation for both internal review and regulatory submissions.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Clinical Development, Regulatory Affairs, and Quality Assurance, to support drug safety initiatives.
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and other relevant documentation.
- Collaborate with Drug Safety team members to support the function.
- Participate in team meetings and present findings or updates on assigned projects.
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. program in Pharmacology, Toxicology, Public Health, Life Sciences, or a related field; recent graduates are also encouraged to apply.
- Basic understanding of pharmacovigilance principles, drug safety regulations, and adverse event reporting.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with drug safety databases or systems is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
