What you’ll do
The Prototype Software Specialist is responsible for the software commissioning and update within the Prototype Build to support the manufacturing and testing of prototypes featuring the pioneering Scout design and functionalities. In accordance with the Scout principes, the specialist in this function will contribute to the transfer of Lessons Learned to the later pre-series and series production line. The ideal candidate not only demonstrates deep software and electric/electronic architecture know-how in the automotive industry, but also data acquisition, evaluation, and curation skills.

- Verify software status of prototype vehicles according to the specifications
- Prepare prototype vehicles for software commissioning
- Set up test areas to perform hardware/software compatibility analyses
- Ensure systematic error analysis and recording
- Analyze, report, and solve electronic malfunctions with involved departments
- Coordinate required software releases with the flash center
Location & Travel Expectations: The responsibilities of this role require attendance at in-person meetings and events daily. This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Columbia, SC. Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time. You will be required to be in Novi, MI frequently.

- 5+ years professional experience with expertise in manufacturing engineering, production planning, and/or software management
- Deep knowledge of electric/electronic architecture and software engineering
- Broad experience in software commissioning of vehicles
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in mechanical, electrical engineering, or equivalent
- Strong data acquisition, evaluation, and curation skills
- Competence to develop effective partnerships and relationships in the cross-functional DV setup
- Creative and strategic problem solver with sound judgement

Pay Transparency
This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.
Initial base salary range = $110,000-$130,000
Internal leveling code: IC9
