What you’ll do
The Specialist Supplier Management report to the Manager Container and Supplier Management and is responsible to establish and manage the Supplier management process for Scout Motors Inc.
Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:
- Collaborate in developing, designing and implementing of planning concepts and projects for the Supplier Management function.
- Planning, implementing and documenting of logistical audits for potential new suppliers/locations prior to nomination (forward sourcing/global sourcing)
- Reporting audit result in VW internal system and follow up open issues.
- Ensuring the logistical delivery quality to secure the series ramp-up, as well as the logistical control of production relocation of nominated suppliers.
- Active developing/contributing to sourcing processes e.g. by preparation of logistic audit and checking the logistics standards fit to Scouts expectations, including supplier’s production and logistics processes.
- Evaluate potential suppliers with purchasing/quality/engineering for supplier awarding, by providing logistics rating.
- Perform launch review to suppliers to ensure suppliers’ readiness for series production.
- Supplier event organizing, e.g. supplier day, supplier training, etc.
- Support the suppliers in necessary processes as transportation, infrastructure, packaging, scheduling and equipment to ensure reliable supply chain on site at suppliers.
- Onsite supplier logistics support to ensure the supplier’s delivery performance in launch/series by using efficient problem-solving processes (8D report, fish-bone chart, etc.)
- Early identification of potential risks in the supply chain. Active development and follow up of countermeasures with cross-departments’ coordination as part of the bottleneck control to assure delivery from suppliers.
- Collaborating with other group plants, e.g. VW de Mexico and Audi de Mexico for knowledge/process exchange.
- Supporting team process establishment for a start-up manufacturing environment.
- Establishing an ongoing, constructive and cooperative communication with the suppliers.
- Assumption of special tasks corresponding to the skills and duties of the job holder
- This Role is carried out responsibly in factual cooperative collaboration with supervisors, employees, involved and affected departments - in compliance with existing guidelines, standards and regulations
Location & Travel Expectations: The responsibilities of this role require attendance at in-person meetings and events regularly. This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Columbia, SC. Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

- 5+ years of professional experience in automotive production and logistics (e.g., inbound/outbound logistics, supplier management, container management, JIT/JIS)
- Extensive experience in automotive logistics supplier management
- Extensive experience with IATF, VDA and MMOG automotive quality management system.
- Project management experience desirable
- Bachelor's/master’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, logistics or related fields
- Strong technical skills in networking, hardware and software systems as well as process design
- Excellent problem-solving skills and communication skills
- Ability to independently work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- High attendance to travel

Pay Transparency
This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.
Initial base salary range = $90,000-$110,000
Internal leveling code: IC9
