What you’ll do

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:

• Lead NVH, durability, strength, and stiffness simulations on system and vehicle level, ensuring optimal structural integrity, noise reduction, and drive comfort under varied load conditions.
• Perform fatigue life predictions and strength analysis using CAE tools (e.g., N Code, Abaqus, Nastran) to assess component performance under cyclic loading, road load data, and extreme use cases.
• Conduct stiffness and dynamic load case simulations (e.g., pothole impact, curb strike) to optimize vehicle strength, structural resilience, and overall durability.
• Develop and validate detailed CAE models incorporating material properties, joint stiffness, and damping behavior to predict NVH, acoustic response, and durability accurately.
• Correlate simulation results with physical tests (e.g., modal analysis, vibration tests, fatigue tests), ensuring alignment with NVH performance targets, strength requirements, and acoustic standards.
• Collaborate with design, product engineering, and manufacturing teams to implement NVH, acoustics, stiffness, and durability improvements across the vehicle development lifecycle.
• Lead root cause analysis for NVH (e.g., vibration, structure-borne noise) and durability issues during prototype and production phases, providing design recommendations for improved performance in acoustics and structural integrity.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders, to facilitate seamless integration of CAE analysis into the development process.
• Drive innovation and continuous improvement initiatives within the CAE team, identifying opportunities to enhance simulation methodologies, tools, and workflows.

Location & Travel Expectations: The responsibilities of this role require attendance at in-person meetings and events regularly. This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Novi, MI. Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

What you’ll bring

• Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field (PhD preferred).
• Minimum of 10+ years of experience in NVH and durability simulations in the automotive industry.
• Expertise in CAE tools such as Nastran, Abaqus, HyperWorks, ANSYS, or equivalent for NVH and durability analysis.
• Strong understanding of vehicle dynamics, fatigue life predictions, road load data analysis, and the mechanical properties of materials.
• A collaborative mindset, with the ability to work seamlessly across departments to achieve common goals.

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial base salary range = $140,000-$160,000
