What you’ll do
Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:
- Develop and validate simulation models to predict the range and energy consumption of electric vehicles under various driving conditions.
- Utilize advanced simulation software tools, such as MATLAB/Simulink, AVL Cruise, or similar platforms, to model vehicle dynamics, powertrain components, and energy storage systems.
- Conduct detailed analyses of vehicle energy consumption, including aerodynamic drag, rolling resistance, and drivetrain losses, to identify opportunities for improving overall efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, battery engineering, and vehicle integration, to optimize vehicle architecture and component specifications for maximum range and efficiency.
- Perform sensitivity analyses and scenario-based simulations to evaluate the impact of different factors, such as battery capacity, vehicle weight, and driving patterns, on EV performance.
- Validate simulation results through correlation with real-world data obtained from vehicle testing, field trials, and customer feedback to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Provide technical support and guidance to internal stakeholders and external partners on simulation methodologies, data interpretation, and performance optimization strategies.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies related to electric vehicle simulation, energy management systems, and vehicle electrification advancements.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of simulation best practices, standardized workflows, and automation tools to streamline the simulation process and improve efficiency.
- Participate in research and development projects aimed at advancing simulation capabilities, enhancing modeling accuracy, and addressing technical challenges specific to electric vehicle range and efficiency.
Location & Travel Expectations: The responsibilities of this role require attendance at in-person meetings and events regularly. This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Novi, MI. Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

- Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience in simulation modeling and analysis, preferably in the electric vehicle domain.
- Proficiency in simulation software tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, AVL Cruise, or equivalent platforms.
- Strong understanding of vehicle dynamics, powertrain systems, and energy storage technologies relevant to electric vehicles.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and drive actionable insights.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience in the automotive or electric vehicle industry is preferred.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards and industry guidelines related to electric vehicle range estimation and efficiency optimization is a plus.

Pay Transparency
This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.
Initial base salary range = $140,000-$160,000
Internal leveling code: IC8
