What you’ll do
The Specialist, Shopfloor IT/Production Systems (MES Logistics) is responsible for the planning and implementation of production/shopfloor systems. The Specialist will report to the Automation/Shopfloor IT Manager.
Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:
- End-to-End business responsibility for planning the enterprise MES (Manufacturing Execution System) platform, including Worker Guidance, Yard Management “repair”, and reporting.
- Collaborating closely with internal stakeholders (automation, maintenance, IT, industrial engineering, etc.) as well as external suppliers to identify technological and business needs, troubleshoot issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensuring the seamless integration of state-of-the-art technology on the shopfloor, with a focus on the integration of MES, Vehicle identification and localization, and Quality Management systems.
- Project coordination in terms of time, costs, and quality (preparation, implementation, training, and documentation of all necessary project milestones).
- Support for planning of Production/Shopfloor systems from concept through implementation phase to final acceptance.
- Development of specifications, leading progress meetings with all relevant production planners, and joint concept/review release with production teams.
- Development of specifications, realization, and management of reports critical to production and operations.
- Supplier Management: Tracking of open points, answering questions from suppliers, support for equipment connectivity, testing, and completing documentation.
- Commission and Acceptance: Conduct availability tests, training, and open points tracking (defect processing), final acceptance, and lessons learned.
- Responsible collaboration with supervisors, employees, involved and affected departments - in compliance with existing guidelines, standards, and regulations.
Location & Travel Expectations: The responsibilities of this role require attendance at in-person meetings and events. This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Columbia, SC. Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

- 3+ years of professional experience in industry (automotive production preferred)
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in IT, electrical engineering, or related fields
- Demonstrated expertise in Production/Shopfloor systems and/or production systems such as MES, SCADA, Edge Computing, Torque Data Management System, or Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
- Ability to quickly adapt to a complex production and IT landscape in a fast-paced manufacturing environment to ensure operational efficiency.
- Basic knowledge about automation technology/PLCs and modern interface technologies
- Project management skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Good communication skills
- Autonomous working approach
- Willingness to travel both domestic and internationally
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Preferred:
- Familiarity with emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Big Data analytics, and their application in improving shopfloor operations
- Basic knowledge about automation technology/PLCs and modern interface technologies
- Ability to identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency gains through the implementation of IT solutions and methodologies
- Experiences from automotive (OEM and Tier 1)

Pay Transparency
This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.
Initial base salary range = $110,000-$130,000
Internal leveling code: IC9
