What you’ll do

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:

You will be integrated in the Scout Motors team responsible for the Production Steering. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Group Leader for our Production Control team to oversee and manage the production steering of our product build within the manufacturing plant.  The ideal candidate will have a strong background in production control, excellent leadership skills, and a keen eye for optimizing processes to ensure high-quality, on-time delivery of products.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of production control specialists and team members.
  • Set clear objectives, monitor performance, and provide ongoing feedback and support.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
  • Develop and execute production plans to ensure efficient use of resources and adherence to production schedules with production performance reporting.
  • Coordinate with various departments including Logistics, Body, Paint, Assembly and Quality Control to secure production build.
  • Identify areas for improvement within the production control process and implement effective solutions.
  • Utilize data and analytics to monitor production performance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Address and resolve production issues and bottlenecks promptly to minimize disruptions.
  • Maintain accurate records of production control metrics and report on performance to senior management. Prepare and present regular production reports and analysis of production trends.
  • Ensure that production processes comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance teams to maintain high product quality and safety standards.

Location & Travel Expectations: The responsibilities of this role require daily attendance in shift. The role will be based out of a Scout Motors location in Columbia, South Carolina. Applicants should expect that the role may require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and be able to travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time. 

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field or equivalent work experience. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., Six Sigma, PMP) are a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in production control, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle production, vehicle sequencing to the plant. Production planning, scheduling and production environment and affinity to work with complex IT-Systems.
  • Detailed knowledge of systems, including Microsoft office suite.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Solid understanding of production processes
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
  • Collaborative team-player with strong interpersonal skills able to communicate at each hierarchical level of the company

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial base salary range = $110,000 - $125,000

Internal leveling code: M9
