What you’ll do
Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including standard operating procedures, technical manuals, engineering workflows, and process guides, to support the Launch department.
- Collaborate with legal, compliance, and technical teams to ensure all documentation meets regulatory requirements and aligns with industry standards.
- Structure and present technical information from Engineering, Quality, and Production teams in a clear and precise manner.
- Document key processes and workflows related to product launches, including operational timelines, milestone tracking, and contingency planning, to ensure seamless execution.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of a centralized documentation system, including standardized templates to ensure consistency and efficiency.
- Continuously revise and enhance documentation to reflect technological advancements, process updates, and changes in regulatory requirements. Incorporate automation, report generation, and streamlined data collection efforts to improve efficiency.
- Provide input and feedback to technical teams to ensure accuracy and completeness of information presented in documentation.
- Assist in evaluating technological advancements, including AI-based applications, for their potential to improve efficiency in documentation and reporting.
Location & Travel Expectations: The responsibilities of this role require daily attendance at in-person meetings and events. This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Columbia, SC. Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

- A bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related discipline, with additional experience or training in technical writing or documentation.
- 1-2 years of experience supporting or managing technical documentation processes, preferably in the automotive, manufacturing, or related industries.
- Strong understanding of technical concepts, processes, and systems, with the ability to effectively structure and manage documentation.
- Proficiency in documentation tools and platforms, including MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, and document management systems.
- Foundational knowledge or willingness to learn automation tools and AI applications to enhance documentation and reporting workflows would be a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, combined with a high level of attention to detail.
- Experience working closely with engineering and production teams to align documentation with technical and operational needs.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive and adaptable mindset, with a focus on delivering high-quality documentation that supports operational success.

Pay Transparency
This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.
Initial base salary range = $90,000-$100,000
Internal leveling code: IC10
