What you’ll do
Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:
- Training Needs Assessment: Identify and assess launch and ongoing training needs through job analysis, career paths, and collaboration across the Commercial Operations team.
- Program Development: Design and develop training programs, content and materials across the multiple areas of brand, product, customer experience processes, systems, technical and additional areas as deemed important to Scout’s success.
- Implementation: Implement before launch training programs using a variety of instructional techniques and formats, such as in-person, online and app based.
- Monitoring and Evaluation: Monitor and evaluate training program effectiveness, success, and ROI.
- Continuous Improvement: Continuously update training programs to ensure they remain relevant, engaging and effective. Implement a fast action process to quickly deploy critical training content based upon emerging business needs.
- Performance Management: Work with the Commercial Operations team to address performance gaps and provide targeted training solutions.
- Employee Onboarding: Develop and deploy a robust onboarding process for new employees to ensure a smooth transition into the company and immediate effectiveness in their job role.
- Learning Management System: Identify, deploy and maintain an intuitive LMS system that is easy to integrate and update with emerging business needs.
- Vendor Management: Lead and collaborate with external training agencies and vendors to deliver specialized training programs.
- Budget Management: Manage the training budget and ensure cost-effective training solutions.
- Compliance Training: Ensure all training programs comply with legal and regulatory requirements across retail operations.
- Reporting: Generate regular reports on training activities and outcomes for senior management.
Location & Travel Expectations:
- This role may be based out of our Columbia, South Carolina location to start or Remote, however, role will be based at a Scout Motors corporate location (to be determined) in early 2025. The final location will be further discussed and aligned with the successful candidate.
- This role is not eligible for remote work in New York City.
- The responsibilities of this role will require daily on-site attendance at in-person meetings and events regularly once the on-site location is determined.
- Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.
- Relocation: If the successful candidate is not local to the confirmed corporate location, relocation will be required.

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Education, HR or a related field.
- 10+ years of proven experience in training preferably in the automotive industry. Retail automotive experience is a plus.
- Strong understanding of automotive sales and service processes and methodologies.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in using training software and e-learning platforms.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain healthy cross-functional relationships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven track record of building a motivated, high-performing team and developing a fun and productive team culture.
- Intuitive ability to navigate organizational complexity and confidently lead strategic, data-driven discussions with top management.

Pay Transparency
This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.
Initial base salary range = $150,000.00 - $180,000.00
