What you’ll do
Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:
The Geometry Central Functions associate will play a critical supporting role towards the in-house measurement processes and defect root cause analysis. The Geometry Central Functions role is essentially an operations planning role responsible for maintaining all equipment and licenses utilized in the Component Center as well as working with the Purchasing team to procure new equipment and fixtures.
Responsibilities
- Manages all Component Center equipment, machine maintenance and spare parts
- Be the first point of contact for all machine issues
- Establishes and maintains documented calibration plan with equipment suppliers
- Works with the Safety department and Structural Engineering to understand building readiness to receive equipment
- Works with internal and external stakeholders to determine all timing for projects
- Works with Finance to develop purchase order requisitions and manages the departmental budget
- Works with Purchasing to develop RFPs, and participates in sourcing projects from start to finish.
- Maintains annual PiWeb licensing for the whole department
- Procure equipment and fixtures, manage activities and define the strategy for current and new vehicle projects
- Makes supplier visits to make assessments of their capabilities and buyoffs
Location & Travel Expectations:
- This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Blythewood, South Carolina
- This role requires 5 days per week in the office, with regular in-person meetings and events.
- Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.
- Any Additional Travel Requirements: International, Domestic, 5-10% of the time, Passport desired but not required upon hire.

Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in operations planning.
- 3+ years of experience evaluating part geometry using gages and fixtures.
- High school diploma required. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 2-3 years of calibration experience in an automotive production environment
- Knowledgeable with vehicle launch phased processes.
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong initiative to develop professionally.
Optional/suggestions:
- Previous experience in the automotive industry.
- Familiarity with manual and automated measuring equipment.
- Familiarity with measurement database software
- Soft skills: Public speaking, cross-functional collaboration
- Is a self-starter. Can take initiative, work independently and find solutions without constant supervision.

Pay Transparency
This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.
Initial Base Salary Range: $95,000.00 - $120,000.00
Internal Leveling Code: IC9
