What You'll Do
The Assistant Director of F&B will work closely with and report directly to the Director of Food & Beverage to achieve company targets and goals, provide leadership and contribute to the strategic development of the restaurants.
Some of your responsibilities include:
- Attend and lead F+B Meetings alongside Director of F&B.
- Develop and lead managers within F+B. Support operations team and ensure necessary tools are always available to the team.
- Work closely with culinary leaders to coordinate new menus and creative events.
- Represent the property at local off property F+B events for promotion.
- Understand and drive property's sales, public relations and marketing strategies.
- Drive financial performance with creative events, market trends and strong guest recognition. Review and critique monthly financial performance with hotel Exec Team/ ownership as needed.
- Assist with training and communication to all staff.
- Lead and coordinate the planning and execution of special events on and off property, act as representation of the property at said events.
- Ensure all staff has completed all appropriate trainings and certifications that may be required.
- Assist the Director of F+B, Executive Chef with projects and budgeting.
- Interview, hire, and train employees; plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance; reward and coach employees; address complaints and resolve issues or concerns.
- Work with the restaurant team, IRD team, bar team, and banquet team.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality/Restaurant Management or equivalent field is preferred.
- Minimum 2 years' experience as a Restaurant F&B Manager or Assistant Director of Food and Beverage with strong understanding of both fine dining and high volume operations.
- Forbes 4/5 star experience;
- International 5 star hotel experience, Caribbean hotel experience;
- Level 1 Certification of Court of Master Sommelier or WSET 3 or 4. Must be able to curate and manage the beverage program.
- Food Handler and Alcohol Awareness Certifications (if applicable).
- Excellent skills in budgeting, expense management, inventory, payroll, labor costing, staffing, marketing, owner relations, and P&L management.
- Large team management experience (150+)
- Large Banquet and Catering experience;
- Able to demonstrate the ability to handle challenging situations and individuals diplomatically, maintaining a consistent level of professionalism.
- Possesses positive attitude, charisma and great interpersonal skills. Quality driven with trend setter approach;
- Capable of interpreting various instructions and consistently exercising independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
- Forecasting experience, P&L management experience, financial skills;
- Proven systems knowledge and experience with Aloha/Avero, Micros, Symphony and ADP/eTime payroll or combination of these systems required.
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Fluency in English and other language is a plus;
- This position requires a flexible schedule, must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
The salary range for this role is $95,000 to $115,000 USD per annum plus bonus. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, pension, meal per shift, and many other benefits to eligible employees.
