What You'll Do
The talented Baker (Overnight) who will primarily work night shifts to provide our guests with exceptional bakery and pastry products. As an integral part of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for preparing a variety of high-quality baked goods adhering to the quality, quantity, and presentation standards as established by the Pastry Chef. You will have the opportunity to engage with guests and enjoy building strong working relationships with your co-workers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare all pastry items for each outlet with a strong focus on detail, time management and consistency
- Ensure timely food production to deliver excellent guest service, maintaining in-depth knowledge of all outlet menus.
- Operate bakery machinery & equipment including ovens, proofers, mixers and other related equipment
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work area including tables, shelves, pastry, cooking, refrigeration and baking equipment with all other kitchen facilities
- Developing new recipes or modifying existing ones to enhance our offerings
- Adhere to departmental policies as well as restaurant rules, regulations and guidelines provided in the Employee Handbook and by management
- Report any maintenance or repair needs for kitchen equipment promptly
- Ensure the excellent quality and presentation of all food served to the guests
- Implement proper sanitation practices to prevent food spoilage and contamination, ensuring compliance with policy and health regulations whilst maintaining inventory.
- Additional projects and responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
What You Bring
- 2-4 year of prior experience in the bakery & pastry department of a high-volume, full-service restaurant or hotel supportive role is preferred.
- Time management and organizational ability required for high quality food production.
- Ability to work with minimal direction or supervision to complete assigned tasks including baked goods and other confectionary/ cake related items
- Food Handler Certification (if applicable).
- Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs and stand/walk up to 8 hours.
- Strong creative organization and problem solving skills.
- Ability to communicate written and verbally in English.
- This position requires a flexible schedule, must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
